Compared to 3.0 Z4 I had a few years back with 18 inch wheels & run flat tyres, it's like driving on air

I am really looking forward to getting one and hopefully the weather here in Sweden gets a little better by June so I can do some test drives before the purchase.

I have always heard that Porsche has a great reputation for being a car that could be used on a daily basis and I honestly want to use just the one car and tuck the Volvo away for awhile.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not sure if "soft ride" is the correct term. I am looking into purchasing my first Porsche. I actually recently purchased my first ever "sports" car. It is an Audi TT Quattro and I am loving it, however this purchase was more an entry purchase into getting into the good stuff thus me know researching into getting a Porsche.
I have a Volvo S40, which I use for my usual daily operations and when I compare it to the TT it is very easy and guess one would call a soft ride. The steering wheel is easy to maneuver the radius of the car works much better then the TT, however its no where as powerful as it.
So guess my question is, does a Porsche 911 Carrera or Turbo from the years 2001-2003 ride similar to the Audi TT? Is this how "sports" cars all behave?
Please forgive me for my ignorance, I just recently got my first sports car and have been way too used to driving a Volvo.
Any information would be great.
Thank you
I bought my first Porsche 3 months ago and I also have a company car Avensis which I drive all week so I totally relate to what you mean! Most sports cars I have owned, TVR, FTO, M3 etc have all seemed a bit harsh for long journeys and have formed biceps and a sore arse!
Not in the C4 though, its a pleasure , particularly on long journeys and is a joy to drive. To be picky the clutch is a bit heavy and gear changes are a bit stiff when cold which im told is just a 996 thing . These are minor details tho and if it wasn't for the 1200 miles a week I do for work I would use it daily.
Take the plunge, I haven't looked back :thumb: :thumb:
Well I use my 99 C2 as a daily car & have covered 4000 miles in 2 months. Most business trips are approx 100 miles with mixture of B, A roads with some motorway. Very comfortable ride for a sports car, although I do ride on the original 17" wheels, so not sure what 18" impact is. Also surprisingly quiet. Quite often hold calls on hands free at motorway speeds no probs.

Thank you both for your replies.
Glad I made some sense

my c4 has sports suspension package and standard 18's and I can assure you comfortable and soft it aint, but thats the price you pay I guess I would not want it any other way.
