Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys! First post, but I've been lingering on this site for quite a while. I currently drive a 944 for fun (love this car), but I wanna trade up and was thinking of shooting for a 996. I found one the other day, but I wanted your opinion on it. Stats: 2000 996 Special Millennium Edition #650 of 911 (not sure of its exact number) This is a C4 2 owners In excellent shape 115k miles - Yep this is the ugly part. Has some of the service records, but not all. So he's asking around 13k pounds for it. Of course I wanted to ask what you guys thought of it. Any advice whether this is a good deal or if I should look for one with lower mileage would be great. Best,

POST 2Original post

Good choice.. I've a millenium (no.98 I think)- and shes currently on 104k...Its good to know the car has been used and not sitting stationary. Its important that you buy on condition, so recommend you get an inspection. As for history...Mine has loads of opc stamps..but unfortunately no invoices when I bought it..I could ring around and get them, and may do when I come to sell...don't know what had been done to it...but since I have owned it over the 2.5 years I now have loads of receipts. check over the paintwork as I just had some work done and they had to special order the paint from Porsche, who inturn had to get it from Porsche Germany

POST 3Original post

I've also got a Millennium, #422 of 911. As these were so highly specified you should really get it checked independently. Mine sat around for a while and had a new engine before I bought it. I have heard that if the engine gets beyond 50k without trouble it's a good one and should already have blown if it was going to :thumb: Where-abouts are you as the inspectors etc are spread around? They are great cars, mine was only one second slower than a stripped out 964 at a sprint day yesterday over a 70 second circuit - but that may have something to do with the drivers

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Adit for the quick reply. I forgot to say in my original post that I'll be getting it inspected for sure. You know I was wondering about the paint on it. I'm guessing it's very expensive. My main thing I'm stuck on is of course the mileage. I don't know for the price if it's a *good* deal or not. I've been looking for boxsters until just recently I decided to get into a 996. So I haven't looked around a lot to compare prices. Wanted to be sure I was not going over my head with mileage / price ratio.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Holy @%#@ Haha that's pretty insane. Thanks for the info bubbles! Well wish me luck all. I'll persue it and see if it gets an OK on inspection. I assume though that 13k is a good price for a ME with 115k on the clock?

POST 7Original post

I came from buying new cars to buying my ME with 93k on the clock....getting past the 100k mark was a mental barrier...but she still drives like its a few years old....I made sure I was happy with the condition... As for the price \ mileage thing...it seems to be an okay price...whens its next service? minor or major? MOT? all that needs to be considered.... If its a good one...buy and enjoy.

POST 8Original post

My car is a millenium edition - Extended leather, Silver / Black Porsche crest in the steering wheel etc. How do I find out what number of the 911?

POST 9Original post

under the climate control display, there is a 911 plaque and on the small silver strip at the bottom it says...xxx/911

POST 10Original post

As everyone says buy on condition. Having said that at that mileage how many bits are due for a change?? Engine Suspension Ummmm........ Other "stuff" just through generally being worn out. Nothing wrong with that but then a £13K car becomes a lot more expensive? Or am I missing something??

POST 11Original post

I am now satisfied my car is not an ME, they were Pinky Purple Vervaerurisirus? With Tan leather and Chrome rims.... hmmm. I just have the ME crest in my horn push

POST 12Original post

yep - if yours is black on black its not an ME.....some like it, some don't.... I'm glad mine doesn't have the chrome wheels... 8)

POST 13Original post

So did you buy it as an ME? Trades description act? If you want to go down that "route" with the Vendor! Where are the solicitors!
