The seller seems pretty honest and said there was a scratch(about £150 smart repair) and the CD doesn't work on the radio.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

:dont know:
Seriously thinking about this car. Seller will take £15700 but no less. what do people think? Service History looks good and it had a major/clutch 3months/700m ago.
I realise the spec/mileage are a bit high but its been well looked after its owner. The ones I've seen are at 15k but has missing service/history or need servicing...
Ta :?:
Ppi it
If that comes back clear
Bag it
It's almost a clone of my own
It needs not to want
Tyres
Rads
Brakes
Suspension arms f and r
Rms
Ims seal
And the like
I think that's a really good priced car and silver/black is a good combination come resale.
Camtune are extremely good, so wouldn't have any concerns about the car being serviced there (and as you say, they are now an OPSC anyway).
Exactly as stated above, things to check are wear/tear really. I see the clutch was replaced recently and he would have had the RMS done at the time if it was an issue (which he says isn't an issue).
My comments would be that it's a very late initial 996 model (996 really came out in three version, 996 3.4 orange light version 98, 996 2000 3.4 clear light model and 996 2001 3.6 facelift the model).
Ie. this one is the 1998 orange light version (which has been converted to clear lights).
The engine has been slightly improved throughout it's life, but apart from that, there's no real difference between the revisions.
If the PPI comes back clear, eg. tyres (check they are N-rated), brakes/pads, rads, alloy curbing, suspension, control arms etc, then I'd definitely go for it.
Any of these items could easily cost you £500 to put right.
This would have been close to £25k 12 months ago and 75k miles is not that high really.
If it was registered in October 1999, then it MAY be model year 2000, which is significant. (Built after 01/09/99).
Very basic spec (17" wheels, no OBC, cruise, heated seats, etc, etc). Doesn't mention PSM, so assume not. London car, so look for dings and dents - he doesn't mention condition in the ad. People obviously aren't beating a path to his door, so he might be keen to negociate. That's if the car checks out.
GD - I doubt very much that it was £25k's worth 12 months ago. Far too basic, and average mileage.
Saw car at the weekend. In very good condition though not perfect. Spec is quite basic but not bothered. The seller seems pretty honest and said there was a scratch(about £150 smart repair) and the CD doesn't work on the radio. The radio looks a bit naff and I'll probably replace it some time. Any ideas? I've seen the original Becker ones for about £120 s/hand. :?:
Plenty of good alternative stereos which are much better than the original. Something like the Becker Grand Prix if you want an original look.
I realise that the basic spec might not worry you, but use that as a bargaining tool. I suspect that is why it's still for sale. Here's a very similar car for £13900, and I'd bet she would take £13k.

(Hope the link works).
Unless you are an experienced Porsche buyer GET A PPI DONE.
I phoned about this car last week. The owner couldn't answer any of my Q's. And the car was also in Portsmouth. I think the fact that it did not sell over the w/end indicates something.
This isn't the cheapest at 15700 but I've seen a few at 15000 all of which have had patchy s/history...This car seems to of been looked after well, garaged all its life...
Hopefully I've made a wise choice. If not my wife will remind me for the rest of my life!
It seems to me that she doesn't know exactly what she has. The car looks to have 18" wheels, and M030 sports suspension. There might be a few other options that she doesn't know are options. Anyway, it gives you some idea about what price you should be paying.
