I then popped into my usual garage and the manager priced matched (Well after some cost adjusting from Head Office, as he was going to be out of pocket by £67).

Cant really say that I've tested the grip yet due to the winter/spring but the Michelins never let go on me grip wise, but I had one of the rears explode on me (luckily I was stationary in traffic outside a petrol station!) so that is why I changed brands.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have just bought some new rear boots for my 996 turbo. After getting an initial quote of £580 I went hunting on line. It wasn't long before I got a great quote from Event-tyres.co.uk. I then popped into my usual garage and the manager priced matched (Well after some cost adjusting from Head Office, as he was going to be out of pocket by £67). So ended up paying £421 for two fully fitted etc. Not a bad saving at all.
I bet someone comes along to make me cry now and say I could have saved even more, lol.

Well, it won't be me!! I've just paid circa £500 for two 285*30*18" for my C2 996 from an OPC.

What make and size are your tyres?
What are the tyres Tim? I bought a pair of Conti 295/30/18 SC2's from Event last month, and they were £521.
Turbos seem to eat rears, and next time I'm thinking of trying something completely different. Has anyone tried Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas on a Turbo? They get some pretty good write-ups in general high performance tests.
I've always advocated N rated tyres, but my
insurance
company are quite happy with anything of the same exact size and speed rating.
Sorry to hear that mate!!!
I stuck with the original equipment, so 295, 30, 18 ZR, PZero Rosso (XL) N5's. It was Formula 1's in MAIDSTONE that did the price match. Did think about other rubber, but to be honest i think they are great for my driving style and I won't be doing any tracking. Well, I will be paying the odd visit to the runway at Bruntingthorpe when visiting my mate.

I recently put Bridgestones 285 30 ZR18 SO2's on the rear of my C4 after getting 20K from Michelin pilot sports. I looked at Event and then had Elite garages pricematch their £425.00 price. I then gave them £25 extra as I felt like I was ripping them off a bit, and then gave the fitter £10 tip for doing a careful job with the wheels, doesn't do any harm does it
I had the SO2's on mine on the front and recently bought a couple of SO2's for the rear.
Do you find them a bit noisy?
Apart from that I'm happy with them.
No noisier than the Michelins. Cant really say that I've tested the grip yet due to the winter/spring but the Michelins never let go on me grip wise, but I had one of the rears explode on me (luckily I was stationary in traffic outside a petrol station!) so that is why I changed brands.
tyre prices 295/30 18
I am due to replace my rear tyres soon on my C4S. Internet price with Best Buy Tyres (BBT) quoted me a fully fitted-all inclusive price of £231 each for Bridgestone SO2 N3. The other place was eTyres, where they come to your home or office to fit them!! I posted a question a few weeks ago about which are the best tyres, and the general opinion was Michelins, followed by the Bridgy's, which are £70 - £80 cheaper. The Pirelli's on my car at the moment didn't really attract many positice comments. I've had SO2's before on my 3.2 Carrera and have been really please with the wet and dry grip, the progressive way it can breakaway, and the wear rate.
All the best, Cheungy
