The 5000TL @$1800 is "old" and being replaced by a newer version.

I'm using a 7000TL QJ i bought from costco last year.

I have a Quick Jack SLX7000 model that I use on my 996, B5 S4 and my Touareg that is 5000lbs.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the QuickJack and it has worked really well.
I have been looking at 2-post lifts and the small "quickJack-type" lifts. While I like a MaxJack 2-post, prices are high IMO. In addition, I find Many sites are called/labeld SCAMS, fake, and don't go there. I only have an 8'2" ceiling in garage, so a short 2-post would be nice. No deal in searches. On to the QJ types.
I found a VEVOR Portable Car Lift - 5,000 LBS Capacity, Extended-Length Plates on Amazon for $1389. Looking at the actual Vevor site is a semi-mixed bag of reviews. In general, folks like the product but say customer service is terrible. Good is Vevor comes with different size rubber blocks, handles, etc. Cost is relatively low, and I'd buy from Amazon just to get them in the "customer service picture". MY main concern is the Vevor w/o extenders is 72.2" long. Has anyone used one on a 996?
Unfortunate, my Pcar is up on jackstands so I can't measure distance between fat tires (std size C4S). Front suspension partly off for R&R. Will the 72.2" length fit between tires? Can someone measure? TIA to post here.
On the flip side, QJ has a 5000TL and it is 70" long. Apparently many use this size QJ. The 5000TL @$1800 is "old" and being replaced by a newer version. A 6000TL @$2075, is the same size and a newer version. Both are 70" long. The QJ is lighter weight, no complaints found. Fewer "standard" blocks and so on, higher cost.
Folks with one of these can chime in on what they like/good/bad and so on. I'd really like to know if the 72" Vevor unit would fit. Others have bought a 5000TLX and found it was too long, back to the ordinary "TL". Since I do most of my own wrench-maint stuff, I am tired of the floor-jack/jackstand dance and difficulty, a total PITA.
My 4S is not lowered, so actual minimum height of either V-QJ will fit. The V is 3.6" (no rubber puck) and QJ is close to the same. Either way, I want to lift on the P-Jack points and may have to make wood/rubber blocks just the right size.
Comments? TIA.
I'm using a 7000TL QJ i bought from costco last year. It works perfectly, either way make sure you use a set of jack packs at the lift points. I found on my 4s that. Without the pucks my side skirts bulge out and now I have one I can't get back straight.
VEVOR makes a lot of things, and I dont mean that in a good way. I think theyre a made-in-China copycat company thats trying to establish itself as something permanent. I wouldnt trust them to do proper RND and would avoid them for something as important as this. If you were buying a cabinet, you could consider them, but not when this thing could possibly crush you.
You can also find scissor lifts with adjustable arms . I used one for years on my 914 and 911 . Just another option to consider . CL and Facebook Marketplace at least around here have used ones for sale quite often .
I have a Quick Jack SLX7000 model that I use on my 996, B5 S4 and my Touareg that is 5000lbs. Its been a good unit and I can vouch for it. Just bleed it correctly and itll be perfect.
I got the 5000TLX last time they were on sale and really like it. Theyre just barely long enough for the Panamera, but I have to pull my C4S up on some 2X10 blocks for ground clearance because its lowered.
I bought the 5000TL from Costco on sale last year for $1,400 and it came with some miscellaneous blocks and two clips to hang them on a wall when not in use.
I bought the same set from costco and have been expectedly happy with it. I money I would have spent on labor for doing my water-pump and related bits, paid for the QJ, and now I can do so much more.
I second this. Youre trusting your life with a jack system. Buy a reputable brand.
Also, be wary of Amazon reviews. They routinely delete negative reviews. Many (most? probably all?) of their sellers also pay third parties to flood the site with 4 and 5 -star reviews (and 1-star reviews for competitor products). I use an iOS add-on app called FakeSpot. It gives you an adjusted rating for Amazon products that eliminates those deceptive reviews.
I have an old QuickJack BL7000XL I picked up from Craigslist.
QuickJack sells spare parts and upgrades.
I picked up an additional set of BL5000XL frames for my 996.
Vevor is a Chinese company that may or may not be around when you need them.
Ive bought a few things from Vevor over the yearsa volleyball net, a driveway ramp, self-loading wheel dollies, etc.
All have been perfectly fine for what they are and what I needed. But I also dont think Id ever buy a QuickJack knockoff from them.
I also rarely use jack stands, and when I do, I only use ones that have a secondary locks. Call me a scaredy cat or whatever, but I cant have fun and drive Pcars if Im squished and dead.
IMHO, 2 post lift is the way to go if at all possible, for sure you'll never regret it.
Where getting a quick jack will work for many operations, you're stuck crawling around on your back under the car. not ideal for a anyone less than a younger agile man...
And to drop a m96 on a quick jack is less than ideal imo... With a 2 post mid lift, you can use a mechanics seat on wheels to work under the car.
jmho
Warning! Do not buy from Vevor. This is not car related, but two years ago, I bought two heated entryway mats totaling almost $500.00, thinking that the Vevor website was an honorable vendor. Both mats failed. One never worked and the other failed after the first winter. The first mat would not work and when I requested a refund, I received a series of poorly written replies. They told me they would refund $20 (twenty) dollars and told me to go to a hardware store and buy an electrical cord and fix it myself. Pardon me? When I demanded, repeatedly, a refund, they eventually offered me half the price of the mat, about $140.00. Again, I refused, and demanded a full refund. They repeatedly stalled or did not respond. This BS went on for over a month. After filing a Paypal complaint, I finally got some traction and received a full refund for the first mat that failed. The next winter, the other mat failed. Too late for a warrantee claim. Out of luck. An expensive lesson.
I without reservation do not recommend any Vevor products. Why pay $1,500.00 for a Vevor lift and possibly have it fail without recourse? Thank you for letting me rant. I feel better now.
Not everything made in China is junk . If something is made for a low price point/specs then the product could be suspect . Regardless of where it is built . On the flip side if a product has higher engineering specs and meets those specs the end product will be higher quality . Again it doesn't matter where built .
I purchased Vevor aluminum ramps for my car trailer . They are so much easier to handle than the steel ramps that came with the trailer . I have only loaded/unloaded my Porsche's with the aluminum ramps but there are no visible issues with the ramps . But to be fair if they failed I would not be laying under them . My opinion : ANY car/truck lifting system from manual jack to 2 post lifts NEEDS additional safety protocols before getting under it . Redundancy is the difference between life and death .
I am glad that you had a good experience with Vevor products. I did not. Vevor's obstinant refusal to accommodate my reasonable and rightful request for a refund for a product that failed out of the box is ridiculous. Vevor made the process so difficult that most customers would give up, which is their goal.
I have the QuickJack and it has worked really well. Since I have never had a lift, it was wonderous to use the first time and I will never go back to a jack and stands. However, being on the heavy side, there are a bit of an issue for this old guy at times. When I purchased the QJ, one alternative was the two-post (MaxJack I think). But is was quite a bit more and was not going to gain my that much lift room as my garage is also not that tall. Not having to take it off the wall and would be nice. That being said, my garage is not very wide either, so having the post there all the time would be an issue too. I am considering doing the hack to add rollers and then just letting the QJ live under the car!
The note about jackpoint pucks is a good one. I got cheap ones that work just fine, but the would not twist into the jack points and stay. A little work with a grinder and file on the plastic made them work great. You can get ones already made that way on Etsy or Amazon. The other big life upgrade was battery ratchets and impact wrench! How I did three restorations and maintained two racecars without QJ or power tools I will never know. Never had air tools either, Every time I had money, it went into making the racecars go faster!
Bump.
Rennlist sent me an email notifying me of QuickJacks Memorial Day sale. Im leaving this here in case some of yall didnt get the email.

Chuck, be careful with those QJ hoses.
I bundle mine together in front middle under car, to go to the pump in front. Completely Out of the way of QJ
Reason being, one time,,, must not have noticed it and jack came down on hose and crimped it. It didn't pop back, must be a metal inner liner that stayed crimped down. It still works fine, but will need to be replaced at some point...
Nice garage set up...!!!
I did pinch once but figured out that youll need to purge pressure from the QD by actuating the motor when trying to pop it on. Now I check 2x before bringing the car down. Appreciate the kind words.
Thanks!! I ordered a 7000TL 2 days ago from Pelican. Called them today about the discount deal, sorry, they would not do it. So I cancelled Pelican order and went over to QJ site. No problem, 20% is a good discount, so I ordered a 700TL-Bundle. It is the 7000TL with all the little do-dahs and puck/lift pieces for a few $ more. After all was said, Still around ~$300+ less than just a standard 7000Tl.
Free shipping, so only tax added. Pelican has "Free Shipping" but I think they drop-ship from mfr QJ. Amazon is more $$ in any event.
Thanks RL for helpful information.
YMMV
Love my QJ 5000, flawless for several years now on all sorts of vehicles. I can even get it under an MX-5. I second that its a bit heavy sometimes for this older guy. I would love a full lift but not an option unfortunately.
I also paid alot less than 1800 at the time.
FWIW cuz sale is Still On till 05-30...
The 7000TL I ordered has Wall Hanger Set, SUV (read Truck for me) Adapter Set, 3" taller lift, and 2 sizes of square pucks. I don't have to make some of the "puck-thingies" out of wood or whatever. I would not have gone for "The Bundle" ordinarily, but 20% discount makes sense.
YMMV
Thats exactly what I have now with the exception of the frame extensions.
https://quickjack.com/frame-extensions/
My Touareg required those to work and its a simple solution. You got a hell of a kit and congrats!
Very interesting.
I assumed it was Vevor.
Sounds like they're in all kinds of legal trouble, not just for selling defective safety items.
Stealing other people's patents?
How typical.
If QJ continues as in the past, they have "SALES" on big holidays. I kept looking for a sale on Memorial Day 2025, missed it, could.t find it. Someone else here on thread posted the Memorial Sale of 20% off, so I found it (thanks to RL poster).
That said, Look around for July 4th Sales. Be aware that many of QJ Sales are from the QJ company site only, and NOT from someone else (PelicanParts, etc.). Yes Pelican and others have "sales", maybe not as much discount as QJ.
I did receive the QJ 7000TL and boxes of accessories. Most of the stuff is pretty heavy, meaning "heavy-duty", and probably far better than what may be offered on Amazon or elsewhere. The QJ 7000 came with manuals on setup directions/using, warning and certification docs, and year 2000+ years diagrams on all mfrs vehicle lifting points. As a matter of fact there are a lot of docs and forms included. In the instruction manual (multiple languages) on nearly any page, "If You Have Problems....Please Call US" numbers. There is a "setup" video, but not detailed enough - read the book! I had a hell of a time with the hydraulic quick-connexs, but finally found my problem and solution in the setup manual.
The 7000TL is pretty heavy. I am not sure where to put it when not using it, maybe leave it under the car. I have concrete walls, so the wall hangars are a little more difficult, but doable with a Bosch Hammer drill - left over from house building....
YMMV
I bought my 5000 from Costco, July 5th of 2020. Must have been on sale. They work well. I had some 3/8" wall 3x6 tube steel left over from work. I sectioned it to match the rubber blocks that came with the jacks. Then I glued 1/2" rubber belting pads to each side. I like them better than the stock rubber blocks.
