Hey Guys, questions, so I just got my 2006 Cayman s out the shop and they disconnected the battery and now my Seatbelt Fault light is on.

I know in the past when I disconnected the battery, there was some other light that came on, but after driving a bit it went off.

Hey Guys, questions, so I just got my 2006 Cayman s out the shop and they disconnected the battery and now my Seatbelt Fault light is on. I know in the past when I disconnected the battery, there was some other light that came on, but after driving a bit it went off. Would that be the case with the seatbelt light? thanks

FWIW, have had a similar issue with the passenger seat on our 08CS. Cured it by simply adjusting the seat back, seemed it was reclined too far. Note this did not occur after battery disconnect, happens randomly.

I agree that tension by having a seat back or angled too far can cause the system to get confused. IIRC it thinks there's a passenger seated. If that isn't it and something else tripped the system, it generally doesn't clear itself. You ould need PIWIS or Durametric to clear the code. I had a case where I drove the car with the console removed while changing shifter cables and it through a code. I was glad I had Durametric.
