Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I just replaced my PCM with an Apple CarPlay /Andriod Auto head unit. Should I keep the old PCM or try to sell it on eBay? I'm thinking the market would be anyone who has a broken PCM and wants parts to get it working, but not pay for a new unit from the factory. On the other hand, perhaps I should keep it and pass it on to the next owner of my car. I guess the question is would anybody who buys a used Cayman want to return it to original spec for some reason? It's not like it's a collector car or museum piece or anything.

POST 2Original post

Why would the next owner of the car want this piece of crap what was obsolete the moment it left the factory? Throw it away, and don't let it take space in your garage.

POST 3Original post

Or sell it cause I mean someone want to have a spare or keep their car OEM no matter how old the infotainment is and hey you get to make a few bucks which is never bad! So sell it!

POST 4Original post

The head unit you installed is way better that whoever you sell the car to will love it. Looking around online stores, it appears that the pre 2013 PCMs don't sell that well.

POST 5Original post

I'll probably sell it. Anyone interested? I see a few on eBay, no bids on the only one that is up for auction. The others are buy it now, not sure if they'll sell or not...

POST 6Original post

Seems like nothing is more worthless than used electronics. Given your 08 CS is a long way from being a classic I don't think anyone will want to back to the stock configuration. Sell it!

POST 7Original post

Even on classic cars - nobody keeps the original radios. Porsche has a same size modern replacement with GPS and all for old 911s

POST 8Original post

Agreed. Like T-Design said, the PCM was out of date the moment it left the factory. Not sure how much I'll get for it.....
