Suggestion

When I test the current through the battery I am getting 3.5 amps but with the trunk open to reach the battery the front trunk light is on which will obviously cause some or all of that current draw.

These blade type fuses have an open area in the plastic top that allows contact to both sides of the fuse while they are plugged in using skinny tipped probes.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My battery won't last a week without driving the car (new battery replaced a few months ago) and I am trying to track down any parasitic draw. When I test the current through the battery I am getting 3.5 amps but with the trunk open to reach the battery the front trunk light is on which will obviously cause some or all of that current draw. I figured I'd pop the fuse for that light but I can't find one, the closest thing was C-3 which was for light switch and front controller, but the light still comes on. Anyone know what fuse turns that off or if there is another way to disable it?

POST 2Original post

You could simply remove the bulb from its socket, or unplug the socket from its wiring harness. But I'm not sure if that would cause a warning lamp to illuminate in the instrument panel. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

One technique you might try is measure the voltage across each fuse in the fuse panel and see which ones have a voltage drop across them. These blade type fuses have an open area in the plastic top that allows contact to both sides of the fuse while they are plugged in using skinny tipped probes. It will be millivolts but that may show a circuit that is conducting current. Also I think if you wait long enough the lights in the frunk and interior turn off after a period of time.
