Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It was repaired by a Porsche approved shop, but the car wasn't perfect and the original owner said it cost more than double what the car was worth to repair it.

I'd have to go back and check the records on the IMS.

Good news is that I did purchase a new 996 to replace my wrecked one, so if I were to rebuild this one, it would be a long project and would be a track purpose car

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all,
Wanted to get some opinions on what my salvaged 996 is worth. I was involved in accident last year (another driver ran a light into my lane, couldn't avoid collision) and totaled the front end. I bought the car back from insurance at a reasonable price as I thought the car was worth more. I have the option to rebuild it, part it out, or sell it as a whole. Obviously selling as a whole would be the quickest option, so wanted to get opinions on what it might fetch for as-is. You can see photos in the

.
Things to note:
I removed the aero wing/side skirts. Non-factory aero car, but added factory aero parts after. Original deck lid back on the car
I removed the tail lights
I removed the RUF wheels, twists back on the car
Passenger door was pushed back by the fender and caused a dent in the quarter panel. Post accident, the door opens and shuts fine
Odometer read 103,XXX at the time of the accident. Engine still ran post accident before the front was disassembled. My assumption is that the motor is still in good condition
Lots of cool options; red stitching, seat head crests, door sills, shift ****/e-brake, power seats, full leather, white gauge cluster
Bilstein shocks/HR springs look good, no issues with the turn radius, car rolls fine with 0 noises
IMS changed around 70,XXX (documented)
Doesn't appear to be frame damage, aside from the front end

Selling the parts will give you the best return on investment.
That's smart. Very valuable! Looks like the aero front bumper is toast. That's an expensive replacement if you go OEM.
Sell them, but they wont bring much. I bought quite a few pair over the years.
Again, smart idea. But I'd sell everything even the Turbo Twists.
Sell them.
The 3.4L engine are in demand. I would think you could get $5K or more as-is.
I would remove it all and reuse down the road or sell them.
They could be damaged. Toss up.
Doesn't add anymore value unless it's the IMS Solution. When was it installed?
Remember, these are not body on frame cars... they're unibody. Based on the attached images, you have severe body warping. IMHO, the car will never drive like it did pre-wreck. My first Porsche 996 had the SAME accident. It was repaired by a Porsche approved shop, but the car wasn't perfect and the original owner said it cost more than double what the car was worth to repair it.
Again, I would sell it as parts, but if you don't want to fool with it, just let it go as a whole and move on with life.
Thanks for the input. Sounds like rebuild would be more of a pain than what its worth. I kept the RUF wheels and plan to put them on my "new" 99 996 and have already swapped the tail lights. I'd have to go back and check the records on the IMS. It was a ceramic replacement, but was done by the previous owner before I bought it about 10 years ago.
Best of luck what ever you do, I'm not far from you in Port Orange. I was thinking of going to a PCA event (monthly gtg), and they have it in Melbourne once a month.
I've been to a few events at the dealership, but never any of the monthly meetings. I'm a bit on the younger side (34) and it feels hard to connect with members who are a bit older, but then again I'm more of an introvert as well, so I blame myself for not making a whole lot of connections lol
I feel you on that man. Same age here now, got it 8 years ago, PCA member from day one but haven't attended a single event lol.
Anyways, I travel to Melbourne for work frequently (next week actually). I'll shoot you a message with my contact if you ever want to meet up for a beer or something.
