Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A day off meant a few modifications to the 996. 1. Fitting my new private reg 2. Installing the K&N induction kit 3. Fitting my retrimmed wheel from Royal Steering Wheels. Went for black alcantara with a grey stitch. Chuffed with the result. Chuffed with the outcome and the noise sounds superb from induction system. Looking forward to taking it for a drive to hear it properly. Attached a few pictures. Thanks. James

POST 2Original post

James, welcome to the Forum. A great little set of mods, and love the dog as well. :thumb:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the kind words everyone!! Merlin our Labrador enjoys getting a picture taken that's for sure.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm just not sure wether to stick with the original colour alloys or get them powder coated in grey. What's people's thoughts? Leave silver or go for grey!

POST 8Original post

Wheels look good in Silver. Handsome woofer. Nice steering wheel, how much is Jack charging these days and what is the turn around time if you don't mind me asking? I've been meaning to do it for years but keep driving the car.

POST 9Original post

Hi James and welcome along. :bye: Nice work and two great projects on a 996. Those C2s sound brilliant with a K&N on. Nice wheel too. I see you're up in my neck of the woods. I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm a Cramlington lad but lived in Whalton for the past 7 years. Currently renting in Ponteland before buying again next year. I'm like the Littlest Hobo, but less hairy and without the cool theme tune. PS. Lovely dog. We love a good dog pic on here. :thumb:

POST 10Original post

How come your rear bumper does not have cut outs for the exhaust? Just curious because ive never noticed that before!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi parsley. It does, it's just the angle of the picture and the exhaust tips have been changed. The next job is too change the exhaust and tips to something louder and more sportier....

POST 14Original post

Looks very nice  Out of interest what is the route message on the instrument panel? Is that what appears on cars with the 2 DIN Porsche head-unit with navigation? Thanks

POST 15Original post

on a recent Wheelers Dealers tv program they sorted out a 996, and Ant removed the induction kit as it pull hot air into the engine instead of cold air which would give better performance, as engines prefer cold to hot air.
