Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im looking at buying a 996.1. Mechanically it is in amazing condition with all of the desired maintenance and repairs. Cosmetically, the front bumper is cracked and side skirts damaged. It needs replacement parts and paint imo. Would you try to replace with stock and color match or add a body kit? What is a rough cost estimate for this kind of work? Thank you!

POST 2Original post

If you are looking for an opinion, I would go back to oem accurate in look. You can find plenty of them on ebay.

POST 3Original post

Another vote for OEM look. I just had my front bumper repaired and resprayed and it was $1K. Came out great.

POST 4Original post

I'm not familiar with that bumper but you may be good with an OEM bumper and a Joe Toth lip.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It sounds like the best bet is finding an OEM bumper on eBay and having a shop paint to match

Where are you located? R & D Exotics used parts in PA has everything. I think i paid $400 for a bumper from him. https://www.ebay.com/str/rdexotics?m...6DpasRHsDxRf9g

POST 7Original post

That is a 986 aero bumper. Its probably repairable and worth a good amount of money. Theyre very difficult to find - dont junk it.

POST 8Original post

If they are fibreglass then its an easy repair for a bodyshop. Then just repaint to suit.

POST 9Original post

I would be willing to buy it depending on where you are located?
