Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it wont work ..you just can't make the surfaces clean enough for it to bond .
Leading evidence: 'Clean enough' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean enough' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Now after another bout of heavy rain, I have a wet drivers carpet
c:
Its getting in through the seal behind the plate for the brake etc, after running a watercan down the windscreen I could see it coming in and yes my drains are clear and work.
I also noticed a drip where I fed some amp cables through a grommet but thats not the main leak.
I guess Ill have to silicone the joint from inside the bonnet.
You are extremely unlucky im afraid .. i've seen only one car do this and it was a Boxster 986 .
Forget silicone sealant .. it wont work ..you just can't make the surfaces clean enough for it to bond .
You need something like this ..

I literally troweled it into that area and formed a slope so that water could run over it and out through the drains .. trust me .. more is better but it does take a while to cure .
Probably best to remove the battery .. an airline if you can to blow out the gap as much as possible and it must be dry which an airline will do .
The wiring through that grommet .. you can use silicone on that .
Thanks Demort for the useful advice, trust me to have the unlucky leak.
By chance I have a similar product, I will have a go at it this week.
Shame its getting colder as it was easier to dry the carpets in the summer, just left the car outside and it was baking. I will try the heater approach, the foam behind the carpet acts as a sponge so I need to wring it out.
Trust me when i say the foam under these carpets will not dry unless air can circulate over it .. i've learnt from experience .
At work i sometimes prop up a carpet and use a dehumidifier to dry them out .. alternative is to remove them .
