Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Will leave it disconnected until I'm back to be on the safe side.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect until i'm back' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I wouldn't disconnect a battery for a few weeks assuming the car is used regularly before then.

If so I'll bite the bullet and disconnect the battery!

My thoughts are that a good battery would be fine and an ageing battery would show its hand and if it went flat I would get it changed before it let me down.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Newbie to the 911!
Reading the manual it says that the ignition needs to be on when the battery is disconnected to prevent the alarm siren activation?
Having read the list of systems that may require relearning after disconnect is it ok to top up the battery charge without disconnection?
The car is off the road and will be left for a few weeks without being started and thought I would optimise the battery charge before leaving it?
If the battery voltage drops whilst left is there a danger of the alarm siren going off and annoying the neighbours? If so I'll bite the bullet and disconnect the battery! Any advice gratefully received.
If you use a battery conditioner such as a CTEK there's no need to disconnect the battery. This is the best method of keeping your battery 'topped up' whilst it is off the road.
Thanks T8, CTEK will be for the future. In the meanwhile as time is short will the alarm go off if the battery gets low? If so I'd rather disconnect for now?
My PO did this and went away for 3 weeks and reconnected. He didn't want to use a CTEK as his car was in an open sided car port while away. The battery was fine but the remote central locking system would not longer recognise either key. Needed to get 2 more keys and a new M535 module.

The car is new to me so can't make an assessment of how much it's been used. Battery looks new but sounded a little sluggish so decided to not risk it dropping so low as to activate siren whilst I'm not there. Disconnected yesterday and the battery has taken a full charge overnight. Will leave it disconnected until I'm back to be on the safe side.
