Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11215155&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US&s=1 Expires June 11, 2007 This is the best deal so far, and Costco has the BEST return policy. For those of you who are interested in this unit, you can try it out and return if you are not happy with it. I almost bought it at amazon.com which also has a nice price-adjustment policy, but the price and return policy at costco are better with the sale. It's also available at Costco stores, but you probably need the coupon book.

POST 2Original post

That is a great deal! Just be aware that Costco's return policy on electronics changed recently. It is now 90 days from date of purchase with receipt. That being said, I am getting one for my Dad for Father's Day.

POST 3Original post

As far as I know, costco only has the 90 days policy on these products: When I checked out it says the product is eligible for the "satisfaction" return period which does not mention 90 days: If you added a computer to your cart, it would state 90 days only. Hope this helps.

POST 4Original post

Anyone ever mount one of these in a CS? I am assuming one can't set this in-dash and would have to have it mounted somewhere. Any thoughts? TIA>

POST 5Original post

Thanks for the headsup Outie. Just ordered one and will use this system for the cars: http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx

POST 6Original post

Check out www.proclips.com for mounts and if you have the time read all 37 pages over here: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=46749 or to save time look at: http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=11722&highlight=garmin This price is really good. I'm tempted to add another one for other cars but I know that the features of the next generation models is going to be worth waiting for and then I'll have two..

POST 7Original post

The ProClip seems like a good solution if I don't mount it on the windshield. The vehicle clip + device clip + extension add up to $70 + $9 shipping which seems a little bit too high. Group buy anyone?

POST 8Original post

Better reception, continued navigation if the signal is lost, easier POI updates, maps that intergrate with software like Google maps that show photos of where you are and who knows what else. I wouldn't wait since I have the 660 but it might be worth waiting for the next generation for my other cars (although I still have trouble being two places at once..)

POST 9Original post

Thanks guys, I just ordered one. I'd been thinking about getting one after seeing how cool they were on peoples' cars at the Rock'n'Croc Rally. For anyone considering it, act now. This price is about $100 less than anywhere else, but the deal expires today!

POST 10Original post

Can a European map be loaded on to this? Effectively making this a nuvi 670? Does anyone know the Costco price for the 670?

POST 11Original post

You can buy European maps for the 660. http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavntEurope.jsp?webpage=/products/nuvi660&submit=Go

POST 12Original post

For those of you that missed the sale date you can get it here for $569. I have ordered from them before with great results: http://www.gpsonsale.com/garmin/products/Nuvi-660.htm

POST 13Original post

Costco is running another sale on the Garmin 650 until Monday the 10th for $299. The newer models have the built-in antenna instead of the flip-up on this one. Costco - $299.99 After $150 Off Garmin Nüvi 650 GPS 4.3" Touch Screen Display

POST 14Original post

Verizon VZ Nav Have any of you guys considered Verizon's VZ Nav in lieu of the big ugly Garmins and the like? VZ Nav works beautifully and in fact you can optionally plan your trip on the VZ Nav web site from your laptop or PC and send the info to your phone then retrieve it as needed as your trip progresses! Regards, Joe

POST 15Original post

But that would mean having to give up my iPhone!

POST 16Original post

If you go with ATT/Cingular or T-Mobile, the GPS chips in modern cell phones are not disabled (they are with Sprint, etc. software, except for 991 calls). I dropped Sprint and picked up a ATT Tilt cell phone, bought a Garmin XT on a 2 gb microSD chip and now have a good self-contained GPS on my cell phone. With a little velcro on the back of the Tilt and landscape mode selected, it sits nicely in front of the tach (covering only the lcd display). Cost was $299 for the Tilt + $86 for the Garmin microSD chip and I have an all-in-one voice-activated cell phone, wireless net access, MP3 player, calendar for $31/month (I don't use the data package, so my wireless network only works when I'm in range of a wireless access point. If you get GPS from the cell phone carrier, it not only costs an extra $9.99/month, but you cannot use it out of range of cell towers (such as hiking in the national parks, etc.).

POST 17Original post

650 for $299 was a better deal. Got couple for Christmas
