Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Well the computer works. I hop in and the readout states "Check Left Break Light" And guess what its out Has anyone changed out one of these yet. In reviewing page 280 in the manual it seems pretty easy. Seems to take a P21, 4W. Can I get one of these anywhere or do I need to visit Porsche ? Is this a pretty straight forward job. Sorry if this seems like a lame post but I am an Accountant who tries to work on his Cayman. Thanks for your help. Rick

POST 2Original post

Rick - I hope you mean it's your "brake" light... sorry... anyway, yes, it is just as easy as it shows in the manual... take the bulb out and take it to any auto parts store and they'll sell you a new one... no need to go to the Porsche store - get a couple while you're there, it'll save you a trip the next time. Although... I was driving one of my Bimmers about a month ago and it showed a rear light out, and I just happened to be going by the BMW dealership on the way to someplace, so I stopped-in, and the guy just handed me two bulbs and said, "no charge..." so ya never know... YMMV... brad

POST 3Original post

I had my car in for another issue when I had the same problem. The dealer replaced the bulb at no charge. I suppose you could say, big deal, cost them nothing, buys them loyalty. True, but nice anyway. Of course, at the time I was also happy they fixed my power steering without complaining about me tracking the car.
