Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used frazerpart and an ebay store to replace pretty much everything bar the rear dogbones with Meyle and TRW drop links
Leading evidence: 'Use frazerpart and an ebay store' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '3k+ escapade' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace front' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

For the rear ARB I used an H&R aftermarket item (£200) set to it's softest setting.

I think my total for the whole lot was £1700 but as i said, i did most of the work myself so probably a 3k+ escapade

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi I have a 996.1 c2 that has just turn over 100k she needs a suspension refresh with new coffin arms and tuning forks all 4 corners All the work
Will need to be done by a mechanic not very mechanical mind So the question is how much do you think this should cost ?
Also I leave near Heathrow any suggestions for indies to do work ?
Is it with buying the parts myself and getting Labour only quotes from garages?
Any descent experience appreciated [/b]
Did this in June 19, 101K miles.
I sourced most of the suspension arm components (there's plenty) from Euro/Car Parts 4 Less and Frazer Parts, they are mostly CTE, plus an MO30 kit from OPC. Parts came to just over £1,800 but think the MO30 is now more than the £1K I paid.
It was £250 to get everything put on the car by my local indy and another £350 for a Geo from Centre Gravity.
Possibly one of the best investments you can make in your car!
Really, really, REALLY try to avoid CarParts4Less!
They are an utter shambles, they sell the wrong parts and then have to be chased up (always over an hour on the phone...) to take it back and again to refund.
Read their TrustPilot reviews and be amazed that they're still in business.
I did the following to get to M030 spec:
Arms:
4x Coffin Arms (Meyle) @ £80 each
3x Tuning Forks (Meyle) @ £90 each - note these are ball joints so either have play or don't - not much point replacing those that don't have play
2x Track Rod ends (TRW) @ £30 each - boots were torn on my originals but no play
I read the upper dogbones don't really wear so just inspected these and they seemed in great condition, although I do have lowish miles (65k). Likewise drop links and track rod ends, these are easy to inspect and replace if necessary.
Springs/Dampers:
M030 (Bilsteins) @ £600
Nearly new springs second hand on here (very lucky with that - probably best to go to Porsche for these) @ £100
Autodoc were the cheapest place I could find for the dampers. Bilstein are the OE supplier. For the anti roll bars, the front M030 ARB is shared with the 986 Boxster S so it's easy to find those on Ebay for very cheap (£60) and in good condition. Make sure you get one with the ARB bushes attached. For the rear ARB I used an H&R aftermarket item (£200) set to it's softest setting. I may change the front for H&R too.
Other bits:
In addition I bought new bump stops and dust covers from Autodoc (£30 per end) although I really only needed the fronts. I took apart the front strut bearings which were in good condition and regreased with heavy marine grease.
I did all the work myself so couldn't comment on labour charges, but one of the main advantages of doing it this way was I could inspect things as I fitted parts and not overbuy where not necessary. Still cost over £1k though.

I think i spent about 1k being careful with who the bits came from and doing the work myself.
You can buy certain Meyle kits with the bolts (have an S on the end of the code) and the Frazerpart tuning fork code is actually a 997 part so you have to modify the front brake ducts as they are slightly thicker (or fit 997 ducts)
The ebay store seemed to ship quite a few bits direct from Meyle UK which is part of the Heritage Parts Centre (if you look them up)
The rear trackrod type arms were the ones causing the biggest clonk.
I did the front the top mounts and bearings and bump stops at the specialist who also did the alignment. I think my total for the whole lot was £1700 but as i said, i did most of the work myself so probably a 3k+ escapade
