Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Right now I am thinking the worst case is that I run a relay off of the remote turn on lead for the factory amp.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hey guys, I'm installing an add-on XM unit and have a question about power. Obviously I want the unit switched so that I don't have to shut it off manually. The thing is that the standard radio has that delayed shut off (I have Sound Plus). I don't want to shut the car off and have the XM shut off immediately and the radio shut off 5 seconds later. I'd prefer it if the XM shut off at the same time as the radio. So does the radio have constant power and delayed switch power or does it decide to shut off on it's own? Is there delayed switch power somewhere? Right now I am thinking the worst case is that I run a relay off of the remote turn on lead for the factory amp. That must be delayed but if there is an easier way I'd like to avoid the relay. Thanks.
