Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My A4 has "adaptive" xenons, sounds like a gimmick but they really help me in the mornings when all the school kids are out and not necessarily using crosswalks.
Leading evidence: 'Use crosswalks' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use crosswalks' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

In a nutshell you attach a Porsche flashlight to your steering wheel at TDC (that's Top Dead Center in technical terms) using some fine leather shoe laces that match your interior.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My wife's Lexus' headlights follow the turn of the car, and then go back to straight ahead. It causes me to spend way too much time watching the stupid headlights do their thing.
My A4 has "adaptive" xenons, sounds like a gimmick but they really help me in the mornings when all the school kids are out and not necessarily using crosswalks. Sometimes it's just fun ;o}
With the perfectly diffused and very wide wall of light that comes out of my Bi-Xenons I fail to see how making them swivel will do anything but reduce their reliability.
What's the big deal? The 1948 Tucker had a swiveling center headlight as well as two regular ones, one on each side...

When you have the light switch set to "auto" they turn off when you shut the car off, but then the fogs come on as a safety-light as you walk away. When you disarm/unlock the fogs turn on again until you start the car...
That was a rhetorical question. Much to my dismay, the Porsche Cayman S does not have automatic headlights. This is a very important feature when you have a wife that's already killed two batteries in the last 2 years from forgetting to turn off the headlights, and, it's not all that hard for a car manufacturer to add either, or, it shouldn't be.
Truthfully, I'm glad that they are not automatic. I kind of like having the control.
I have read many many posts of complaints about the lack of automatic headlights. It's really not a big deal to install them. See the attached documents. If you're interested, I can put you in contact with a source that will provide this part for under $50. If you're up to it, you can install it yourself, or take it to your favorite car audio shop or mechanic.
I wasn't a big fan of running lights either, until I found out some studies showed it cut down on accidents by some huge factor and now they're required in all new cars in some countries. Plus, on the BMW 335i I got for my wife, the angel eyes look kind of cool.
As for not liking auto-sensing lights that come on automatically when it gets dark, in all implementations I've seen, you have the option not to use them if you don't want to.
Plus, the feature I'm specifically talking about is the opposite, turning the headlight off when you shut off the car. You can always turn them on manually again if desired, but the auto shutoff feature can save you from being stuck at some deserted place at night because your batteries ran down.
What principle? Remember, Porsches are sports cars intended to perform as well as possible. I've never seen a race car with automatic headlamp control.
I refuse to pay premium prices for a non-premium car.
As for racecars, did you see Cars? To quote Lightning McQueen, "Headlights, I don't need no stinking headlights. I'm a racecar." So if you truly think Porsche not-GT3s are true racecars, you should strip the headlights off your car.
I guess the definition of 'Premium Car' is different for everyone. Obviously, to you a premium car must have automatic headlights. And if you feel that strongly and 'refuse to pay a premium price for a non-premium car', then don't. Buy something else. No one is stopping you from buying a Toyota.
Lets not deny the obvious. None of the Porsche street cars are really race cars. They are street cars with a bias for sport and performance driving. First and foremost, they need to be street legal, or no one will buy one.
There is a tight rope walk between staying true to that commitment to ultimate performance and driving enjoyment and pleasing the would be customers that ultimately keep the company in business and generating profits. To me, it's almost a bit sad that you can't buy a Cayman with manual roll up windows, no A/C, no radio, no power locks, and so on. Every one of those options adds weight to the car and hurts it's ultimate performance. But the customers demand A/C, power windows, power locks, radios, and so on. Porsche needs to draw the line somewhere. Are they committed to sports car performance, or are the committed to sales?
There are plenty of cars that come with automatic headlamps. If that's a deal breaker for you in regard to the Cayman, oh well. Move along.
I don't see what the big deal is, obviously someone has overlooked my Porsche Flashlight Modification Article! It blows away any Toyota systems! In a nutshell you attach a Porsche flashlight to your steering wheel at TDC (that's Top Dead Center in technical terms) using some fine leather shoe laces that match your interior. Then when it is dark simply turn on the flashlight and as you turn right the flashlight goes right, when you turn left the flashlight goes left! BAM!
