Leading evidence: 'then i tend' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'then i tend' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check error codes and all was fine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

just spoke to my uncle who is a mechanic and he said to check the mass airflow sensor.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everybody, last week I decided that the 997 needs an older brother. So, I bought a 996 C2 Manual with the cool cable throttle, I would also like to mention that it is a beautiful spec, incl. M030, sport suspension and seats, LSD, 996 turbo wheels etc. So, I am excited to say the least. BUT. I noticed a throttle hesitation issue.
When I say accelerate by pressing the pedal up to 80% all is fine. But quite frequently when I give it the full beans it stutters and hesitates. At 4,000 RPM and above. As an example, when I accelerate on 2nd gear up to 7,000 RPM at 50% percent and then shift to third and press the accelerator to 100% it jolts and stutters and I feel as if not only I pressed the throttle at 80% but rather 40%. It seems like a fuel delivery issue. Would anybody know how to solve this or where it is coming from?
Many thanks,
Bob

I agree with you .. it sounds like the fuel pump can't quite cope at full load .. considering its about 20 years old and can't really be proven to be faulty then i tend to say ..
Replace it and see .
Even if it doesn't fix the issue ( i think it will though ) then it's still money worth spending on something so critical and it's not a huge expense if you can diy it .
Its possible , it was my next thought but if you think about it logically .. the sensor gives an increased reading as the airflow increases .. if you .. 80% the throttle and don't have an issue it's unlikely to be this .. it would have to fail at the higher end of airflow .. it would flag a fault code which in turn should bring on the EML.
Maf sensor issues are normally an incorrect reading .. too rich or too lean throughout the entire range .
At flat out throttle these cars ignore lambda sensors and to a degree the maf sensor .. the cars aim is to dump as much fuel into the cylinders as possible ..
Throttle fully open is max air flow .. injectors at max opening duration .. measuring the airflow doesn't really come into it at that point .
Hence i'm leaning towards it being a fuel delivery issue .. not enough fuel pressure at wide open and you will get massive hesitation as the air / fuel mixture is way out .
Nothing to say i'm correct at all .. it's just my hunch ..
Im sure others will have their opinions as this is just mine .
Thank you very much for your recommendations.
I will start with the fuel filter and see. I also took it to the mechanic today (porsche guy and friend so he didnt mind the sunday). We checked the error codes and all was fine. So I will fiddle with it and see whats what.
