This is not a probability of success.

I didn't find the 3 spoke 996 steering wheel that the previous owner had installed when he sold it, but a replacement is now ordered from ebay.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As often happens, bits can go missing somewhere between seller and buyer when there's various people in between. Always a bit frustrating, as I'm the sort of guy that likes new owners to have all the bits I've collected with my cars.
My '99 996 C2 has a spare wheel and broken CD changer, and that's pretty much all. No toolkit or anything else (not even the locking wheel nut most annoyingly).
Although I did find an old New Model Army CD in the player if anyone wants it.
I know I'm missing the tool kit which I can buy on ebay. Assume it's the same as the Boxster from same year?
Anything else I should have in trunk or recommended to have on board?
Thanks!
Just the spare wheel and tool roll in mine. Spare wheel should have an insert with the jack and towing eye.
I've also got the 10 speaker hifi amp directly behind the spare wheel but that's obviously spec dependent. My CD changer has gone missing somewhere along the line but no tears shed over that tbh.
Here's mine (2003 996)
Jack and handle behind wheel
Tool roll - T bar, screwdriver, box spanner, wheel alignment pin, towing eye, headlight removal tool and OE spanner 13/10mm.
Mine was missing the towing eye so sourced one from ebay.
Thought of another thing...
You should have a load of leaves and detritus under the bulkhead plastic covers which also block the 4 rubber drainage grommets (about 30mm diameter). If not, I'd ask for a refund

Er missing the point here perhaps. Forget about tool rolls etc. Under the frunk you need, an overnight bag with a few essentials, dinner suit, spare sun glasses, envelope stuffed with cash, oh and a passport. Then sit back and enjoy the ride!
Please tell me to shut up if this isn't relevant. In mine i thought the same(tools missing) and ended getting in touch with the vendor and the tool roll was in the inside of the spare wheel, i assume you may have done the same?
apologise if you've already done this
Not sure if the 996tt differs but in addition to the tool roll, jack in a bag etc. I have some original disposable gloves which my girlfriend found very amusing an electric tyre inflator for the space saver and some mystery green liquid in a bottle though I'm not sure if that was factory. Also a note for anyone buying one of these check the tool roll carefully! Mine looked full but it turns out someone had put another screwdriver in it in place of the headlight removal tool. Very handy when I wanted to remove my headlights to clean them!
Thanks very much (and everyone else). This is exactly what happened! Tucked very tightly behind the spare wheel, even the PPI missed it. Also with the locking nut

So looks like I'm just missing the towing eye comparing to the other photo provided, which also seem quite plentiful on ebay.
Cheers!
