Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have been running a Guard LSD 40/60 on my 996.2 for over 15 years.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What are the options to install a LSD into a 2002 996 C2? Preferably a clutch pack lsd.
I've looked the usual purveyors of lsd, but none list an application for C2. Some list application for 996 Turbo, will that work in a C2?
I have been running a Guard LSD 40/60 on my 996.2 for over 15 years. Makes all the difference in the world in handling on the track and street. At the time, Guard provided all the internals and my Indy did the build. 3 years ago I had it rebuilt by my indy as i was going thru my second 10 year refresh of my 2002 996 C2. I would give Guard a call to see what they are offering. At the time, Guard was the LSD to have and of choice for the PCA racing/DE community. I understand today that there are many new competitors. But I have been impressed and very happy with Guard so I continue with them.
This is on the to do list for my 1999 Carrera once I finish with all of the deferred maintenance.
Any idea what this would cost at the local Indy, with today’s inflated prices?
It cost me about $3500 back in the day all in. I would have to check my service records 3 years ago for the rebuild cost. No question, its worth the price.
Sharkwerks in the bay area offers the service and i believe shows prices on their website that you can take a look at. If your indy is tied into PCA club racing, there is a pretty good chance they have done them before and can give you a quote. For sure, Guard can supply some info as well.
I have the original LSD in my coupe. Has 76k miles on it, so I'm sure it needs work. I plan on doing the Guard rebuild kit once I get some track time, if I ever get on the track, if I ever get these stupid coil overs installed. I would also be curious what the going rate for the kit install is. I am not going to attempt that one...
Karl, I had TPC do the LSD in my car (1999 C2) many years ago and SSI did a refresh for me last year. Id reach out to either of those shops if youre interested and have no issues with either shop. They both have significant experience with the 996 platform.
