Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Did mine a few months ago, expected them to be clear as the car doesn't get much use but is serviced regularly, but one of the drains was completely blocked, another was almost blocked.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I'm looking to clear the drain channels on my Porsche 996 turbo. Can anyone let me know where they are located on a 996 turbo coupe? Thanks

POST 3Original post

If you mean the water drain channels, I did this recently. The AC, coupe roof drains are another matter, of course.

POST 4Original post

Under the bonnet, remove the plastic battery cover, then the black covers from either side with a torx bit. The drain tubes are a bit hard to see without a torch, but when found are easy to clear with a bit of wire out of a length of flex. If you do it after washing the car you will see if you have a problem as there will be water collected round the battery tray. There are photos somewhere online, rennlist I think. Did mine a few months ago, expected them to be clear as the car doesn't get much use but is serviced regularly, but one of the drains was completely blocked, another was almost blocked. Job is worth doing.
