Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Although they don't yet have a dedicated Porsche page they seem to know what they are doing, I used their Becker page and they provided the code on screen a few seconds after purchasing it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Friend just had battery replaced in 1999 Carrera 4. Now asking for radio code. I believe it should be in manual or paper work somewhere. Would anyone point us in right direction? Would taking to dealership help if can't find code in paperwork?
It is printed on black business sized card. Should be in the owners manual case. You an also look for the 4 digit code written on the option sticker on the under side of the hood or on the radio itself. This is where someone along the way may have put it to be convenient to remember.

...and if all those suggestions don't help, someone with a Durametric should be able to pull the code from the DME if the radio is original to the car. You friendly local Porsche dealer should also be able to supply it.
The quickest way: go to eBay
In SEARCH box enter: CDR-220 code (or CDR-210, or whatever version you have)
You'll have about a half dozen vendors that will provide you the code anywhere from $6-15.
You give them a couple of numbers off the radio, they'll find the code and send it to you.
Less than 24 hours you'll have the correct code for the radio. If I send the info in the evening, I have the information by the time I'm up in the morning.
I've done this 3-4 times. It works every time. It's easy.

Update for anyone else coming across through Google, I managed to find mine for 5 (6 USD Google tells me) from a UK company with a lot of positive TrustPilot reviews. Although they don't yet have a dedicated Porsche page they seem to know what they are doing, I used their Becker page and they provided the code on screen a few seconds after purchasing it. This is their Becker page
