Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Because I want this install to look standard and professional I am getting it installed by a pro
Leading evidence: 'Install by a pro' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check there's no different bracketing needed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I have got a replacement shelf in place of the satnav cd unit, I have installed a USB connector for it.

Suggestion
Just want to double check there's no different bracketing needed for a standard 7 inch screen double din unit.

Suggestion
I've seen a lot of single dins being replaces with 2 find but never a pcm1 for a 2 din After market head unit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Super excited!!! Finally I am getting a new head unit for the turbo. I have been waiting for ages for a head unit to tick all of my boxes (Apple CarPlay, Wifi connectivity, capacitive touch screen - decent res) and the Kenwood DMX8019DABS is what I have gone for.
Bonus is the dashcam (DRV-N520) directly integrates with the head unit so I am going for that too.
I have got a replacement shelf in place of the satnav cd unit, I have installed a USB connector for it. I toyed with the idea of a wireless Qi charger in the shelf but was not sure it would well through the rubber mat.

I will add more photos when installed.
Well it's all in and I am very happy with it. Wireless (Wifi no bluetooth) is fantastic. Carplay is now at a decent level - once Waze/Google update their apps to be default navigation in the Carplay dash I will be content.
The head unit it very good, no complaints - even down to minor points like which side the driver sits so the display adapts.
The dashcam integration directly into the head unit display is nice (too tempting to watch it while driving tho
).
Sorry about the before photo - didn't check it until it had been replaced!!
Thanks for posting it looks great! Did you put this in in place of a pcm 1? Out of interest is there some kind of bracket needed or is it just a case of pushing it in? . I've seen a lot of single dins being replaces with 2 find but never a pcm1 for a 2 din After market head unit. I'm guessing you also took the sat nav dvd slot out. I'm trying to find a head unit maybe at a slightly lower price that can still work with the cd changer then I think it will be one of the first jobs I do once I actually get the car next week!
i already had a nav double din unit in place so 'relatively' simple swap.
I do need to swap cd tray for a cubbyhole. And stick the Nav CDs in the cupboard.
Thanks modz1r was the one you swapped from the factory nav unit? Just want to double check there's no different bracketing needed for a standard 7 inch screen double din unit.
Still debating between the continental single din which looks a bit more low key and a double din one with apple car play etc
You need a bezel and that will (most likely) come with the bracket to make a double din fit.
I recommend going Apple/Android play - Wifi wireless. It couldn't be simpler - no need to connect anything when you get in the car i.e. cables or cd's. With them both being updated regularly it's like your head unit is keeping up with tech. Now Apple Carplay supports Google maps as default map in app screen etc
Just good to be able to get new features, get a non Apple/Android unit and that is as good as it will ever be.
looks good and done the same with USB, and using a Kenwood too, its the second one in the same car since I've owned it. Keen on impressions on camera as i haven't bought that yet.
Next project will be a Wireless charging pad built into the base of the cubby... Coz wireless is cool, flat phones not so much
The camera is very good, image is crisp, works in all light levels well. Obviously integrating directly into the head unit is a big plus, lot easier watching anything back on the head unit. I did have the lane assist, collision warning turned on but it just annoyed me too much.
I considered the wireless charging pad in the cubby tray but couldn't find one would sit nicely in tray - I wanted to build it into the tray so you could not see it. Then wondered if it did not have the rubber mat on it would it not just fly off!! TBH I have not yet plugged my phone in to charge it, I did a fairly decent drive last Sunday and can't say it drained the battery much more than normal. Everything is on the screen you need in CarPlay so you don't bother even getting your phone out of your pocket.
If you get a good solution I'd be interested to see it.
