This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, When I have the hardtop on I get a creaking noise coming from the hardtop while driving,is this normal ?? and is there a cure?? Thanks PJE 1999-996 Cab Silver :?:

POST 2Original post

Not sure if it is normal but mine creaks when the hardtop is on as well. I wince going down badly maintained roads...

POST 3Original post

I used to have some Porsche Dealer PDF files with information on sorting all sorts of rattles and noises with both the soft and hard top, i'll try to find them :?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Creaking Hardtop Would be great if you can find them. Thanks PJE :thumb:

POST 5Original post

Mine does but silicone grease on all the joining places helps!!!

POST 6Original post

You actually use the hardtop? Shame on you! I havent ever used the hardtop but silicone spray thingy works well on most soft top related creaks so might help. You can buy it from Robert Dyas in the form of a spray can of "curtain rail lubricant". I guess I would also check that all the hard top fixings are on correctly and nice and secure.

POST 7Original post

always struck me it was just where the top met the body and when the car flexes over bad roads the rubber seals creak/groan with the movement. Hardtop has been sitting in my office since 1st weekend in March

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Creaking Hardtop Thanks Guys will give the silicone a go. :bye:

POST 9Original post
