I generally hate the concept of buying a 1 time use tool and feel Ohlins should have used more standard bolts somehow rather than having to bend over backwards to find the right thing.

A bit frustrated with this Ohlins install as it sounds like it should be a fairly easy step. This top nut on the rear strut needs to be torqued down to 35nm, while sticking something inside this slot for counter holding.
This is wider than my largest screwdriver (either straight on, or screwdriver is too thick if I turn it perpendicular to the slot), and too small for other things. I need a �just right� tool that gives me enough leverage and holds the slot firmly while allowing me to torque the nut.
What did you all do? Attached are pics of the nut and the tools I have.
No! Don't. Can you use one of your screwdrivers laying sideways? If that doesn't work, try perusing a hardware store for something that looks appropriate.
Doesn't that center post have an allen head inside? Blow up the picture and look inside the post. Find the correct size allen head wrench that fits and use it to keep the center from spinning.
The rear Ohlin's adjuster is on the top in the shaft. There is no hex in there for tightening. The slot is there to hold the shaft while tightening the nut. I did mine so long ago I don't remember what I used, but, it was something similar to what @wdb suggests, find a piece of metal that fits the slot. I don't know why Ohlin's doesn't throw in a socket. It would be cheap and assure the seals don't get damaged by spinning shafts.
There is an Ohlins tool for service centers, which is for unscrewing it from the strut housing on Mcpherson cars. We can make a tool to assist if you can pause for a bit. If it helps we can include it on future orders. Realistically jam nuts may be an easier solution.
