I actually used Velcro self adhesive pads because they stick like the provervbial.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 2002 targa has two annoying rattles, the first happens when the rear seats are upright and is easily fixed by dropping them. The other rattle and accompanying squeak seems to come from the back windscreen, any ideas what that could be or how to fix, thanks

POST 2Original post

Hey, feel your pain, Rear seats would probably benefit from a light greasing, mine have never squeaked so difficult to know where it's coming from. Number of things work for the roof....call it a specialist subject. 1. Get some silicone grease, the stuff used on diving o-rings not spray can. Look it up on ebay. Apply it to the full perimeter of the rear window rubber seal and especially in the lower 2 corners where you can see the plastic surround has been rubbing on the window assembly. £20 buys you a 500Ml lifetime supply. 2. Do the same around the Targa roof seals. 3. The bolts on the motor assembly for the sun blind have a habit of working loose. Pull off the plastic cover in the roof between the roof and rear window, 6 push fit clips hold it on and start both ends towards the middle to release them one by one. Make a note of how the cover is tucked under the rubber seal adjacent to the rear window for when you put it back together again. 4. The wind break that pops up when you open the roof can squeak and be very annoying when concealed. Get some small pads, cut to size and stick them to the front wind break on the small blocks at either end of it where the roof connects as it pushes the wind break behind the windscreen. I actually used Velcro self adhesive pads because they stick like the provervbial. http://www.athenacrafts.co.uk/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/AC-H-V-63247.jpg Works better than a Kwik Fit Fitter....and no, I'm not one Good Luck! :bandit:
