Despite living 20 miles away from Saxon cars, I bought mine from someone much further afield - would recommend Cameron Sportscars near Bath.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just been to look at a GT4 at Saxon 4x4, great looking car the spec isn’t prefect, bit poverty but none the less still a cracking car. Does anyone recognise the reg EJ70AWF? its only done 1000 miles since 2020, in general the car is in excellent condition but a couple areas of concern: bubbling under PPF on the rear arch is this a common problem? I can’t help but think the tyres have done more than a 1000 miles, does anyone know what the standard depth of Cup 2’s is? I doesn’t have the 18 way adjustable seats nor CarPlay both are things I want but could live without if I had to. I don’t think the bucket seats are for me although they would be my preferred choice, 38” waste is saying don’t bother! Link to car https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202210140... If anyone knows anymore about it or the previous owner that would be great.

POST 2Original post

Just as an FYI CarPlay is standard. You just need to plug the phone into the USB port in the armrest.

Something doesn’t feel right about it, I don’t believe it’s been serviced either. I will have a look thank you.

POST 5Original post

Last time I was in there (quite a few months ago), I think that one was in the downstairs showroom and they had another one somewhere as well, possibly upstairs. Can’t really be much help other than that but if it doesn’t ‘feel’ right, don’t talk yourself into it.

I enquired about it a month ago but ended up buying another car. It was reduced to the current price a few weeks ago however there were similar spec cars from Porsche specialists when I looked for about 1k more. They chased me up to view the car on several occasions however the trade in they offered was at least 3k lower then everyone else so it was actually a bit more then a couple of OPC cars that had much stronger trade in bids on balance. I'm guessing its bidding bottom book for trade in's is the problem here.

There is a handful of small scratches around the drivers door, I have asked them to confirm warranty and service history. Although it’s only done 1000 miles it should have been serviced by now I believe 24 months or 12000 miles? Other thing is I don’t think it has a Porsche warranty / Extended. I really like the Red, not everyone’s cup of tea but it really suits the GT4 imo. There’s a yellow one at OPC Colchester but I’m not 100% sure I could live with that colour + it has buckets. Nice Red one in Scotland but I would hate to travel 400/500 miles to find out it isn’t prefect. I have serious OCD, soon as I spot a small imperfection I’m not interested or suspect the worst.

Don't reckon that Saxton car has £6k worth of options. Probably ended up there outside the OPC network as skipped its 2 year service due November 2022 so no or questionable warranty. Would also want to know how many owners and who especially as tyres down for the mileage. Guards a great colour good choice have owned a Guards 981 GT4 and now a Guards 718 GT4 from new.

GT4RS flipped his new 2022 GT4 for big overs ££ last year. I would recommend you sit in the buckets in the 718 GT4 to see if they are ok for you there is only one type of bucket the p11 which has electric height adjustability. They are a great seat very supportive I am 6'2" had them in quite a few new cars now they do look fantastic too especially with a car with a matching optional carbon interior. Big difference in value and desirability between a comfort seat and bucket seat GT4 same as any Porsche GT btw. Comfort seat cars are much slower sellers so worth quite a bit less ££. You do tend to sit ON the comfort seats rather than IN the buckets so buckets more attuned with the chassis and overall experience which is obviously a plus with a car like the GT4. Incidentally I haven't received any e mail from you regarding the Saxton car your PH account needs changing to send and receive e mails.

I don’t mind spending a bit more if I have to. Is the yellow a no go in terms of resale?

If not in a hurry bide your time plenty of cars coming to the market, used prices softening all the time so great deals will be had come autumn/winter. I am sure AV185 and co will be along shortly to put a different spin on the current market but with cars like the nearly new Gt4rs at £182k down from £230k highs the market really is only going one way! Just to add saw a few 718 gt4s on Saturday and not a fan of white although I owned a CWM 981 gt4, personally think guards red platinum or silver wheels looks best colour out of the popular colours but that’s only my opinion. It hasn’t been serviced, well they are saying it was done by them last year but I smell BS. Porsche have never serviced it. Moving on…

Working on it, I’m not going to rush into buying it, theres a few about. By any chance do you have the buckets in yours? Trying to find somewhere the sizes of them. Yes I specified buckets in mine, first time I had them in a new porsche. Look lovely but difficult to get out of, my 18 way seats in our 991.2 were far more useable in my opinion. The buckets do look nice, once in I found them comfy enough. I’m about 6.2 and 16.5 stone and fitted fine.

How on earth do you know how much I traded my gt4 to a opc for? But yes I definitely got more last summer than I would in todays market, prices have fallen quite a bit since then. When’s your new 992 gt3 being built and delivered?

Moving on… Wise choice, why on earth wouldn’t you service a new car! Sit tight better deals to be had, this time of year porsche GT normally sell fast and are few and far between, market is slowly changing. It’s now a buyers market and dealer ware having to work for their next sale.

Very envious, Jim! I've had to delay my GT4 plan a few years after our son arrived, extended the house and nursery fees so I'll live vicariously through you for now if/when you get one! Feel free to come over to Hitchin and stretch its legs when get one.

I’m at the other end now mate, Ben has left school and is off to Cambridge, Finley off to secondary school and even the baby is in going into year 1 at primary. I’ve worked way too hard for a long time, it’s time for a new toy and some fun, I’ve got the M3CS coming in November but I’m not feeling it at the moment… and looking at how long they are taking to sell on autotrader I’m thinking of ditching that completely. Off to look at one tomorrow with buckets to see if it’s going to be comfortable enough for me to fit in etc Without advertising the M2C it has provisionally sold so just need to get the GR Yaris up for sale or part x then I’ll pull the trigger.

Time really does fly! I think to proceed with an M3CS now is a heart over head move. Great if you can but prepare to take a bath in the current financial climate and if not, you've had a result. A lightly used GT4, with Porsche warranty, is a great head and heart choice and what I'd do if I could. Still think there's some depreciation to happen now interest rates are up but not enough to put me off buying if I was in your position.

I don’t the love the M3CS enough to take the hit. Not sure if it worth hanging out a few more months, surely the winter will bring softer prices.

At the right price, that car looks fine to me. I think Volkswizard got a great deal.
