First off, I hope its of no problem to ask a Boxster specific question here. If it is, mods plz tell me!
Now for the question, those of you who have driven a Boxster (or any other convertible for that matter) know about the small wind breaker panel that is attached to help reduce turbulences while the top is down. Now the problem is that this wind breaker tends to get loose when driving at speeds over 120km/h (about 70mph I guess) but that doesn't happen all the time, sometimes its sits firmly, others it just gets loose. Now I think this is very dangerous because usually I'd have to grab it and push it in or remove it completely (at which point the wind turbulences and noises become really annoying)
Any thoughts?!

Moved to Boxster forum. When I had my 500SL there was no rattles or loose parts.
Sounds like one of the clips is broken. I've run mine up well over 100MPH and while it rattles a lot it has never come loose.
hmm, I gues it would be ok to ask the Cayman people what they think... if it were me, I'd take it into the dealer and ask them about it... it's their OEM solution, and it's unsafe to use as it is now... 120 km/h is not very fast - it should stay-put at speeds much higher than that.

Sounds like a problem with your wind breaker. Mine doesn't move even when in the 3 digits speed range.
Get the dealer to sort it out, its probably just a faulty clip.
Thanks a lot for the help. Will try to schedule a visit to the dealer soon. In the mean time, will try to check it out myself!

If you remove it to clean it, you have to make sure the buttons on the top of the clips lock into place when you put it back.
I had a rattle/noise issue with wind break on my 2005 Boxster but PCNA issued a service bulletin and it was fixed by my P-dealer during one of my service appointments. I have not had any issues on my 2007 BS and had it up to 120 mph on DE track days without concern. The plastic clips that hold the wind break in place are fairly flimsy; I can see the potential for fatigued failure over time.
If you are out of warranty the part number for a clip set is:
98756190102 - $60 USD
and the center windstop is:
98756162100 - $201 USD
well if its failure, then it has to be covered by warranty. The car is less than 1 year old and has about 13k km on her. Will check the clips tomrrow when I go out, but which clips are they, the ones in the car or those of the panel itself?!

The clips are the two on the roll bar with the buttons.
