Hello all,
Love my
Cayman S
, but the car had some initial problems and the service was not too good. Here are the details.
- Four problems:
- Air leak in driver window, causes whistling...loud if you are going fast.
- Clear bra had defects. Was told when I picked up to come back to get repaired.
- Defective trim around shifter
- Rattle in dash
I called the dealer a week before my appointment. Dropped off the car at 10AM yesterday. Here are the results.
- Clear Bra: "The bra guy is not in today, we will have to reschedule". Don't you think they could have told me that before?
- Air leak: "Too much traffic to really test out, have to reschedule". There was no traffic from about 10AM to about 4PM, so WTF?
- Defective trim: "Have to order part, need to reschedule."
- Rattle in dash: "Mechanic heard it for a few seconds, then it stopped."
Is this normal? Am I hurting everyone by telling the truth on my car survey? I burn an hour going back and forth each time to the dealer.
Still love the car, but this was disappointing.
Thanks in advance for any comments,
Tell the truth. Without the feedback Porsche cannot react properly.
No reason to feel guilty for posting. Your doing the right thing to alert others.
Unfortunately your check cleared before the issues were resolved.
Good luck
You gotta tell the truth. that's how cars get better.
No, it's not normal, and you're not hurting anyone. That dealership dropped the ball.
1. Tell the truth. The survey result are taken seriously.
B. Find a new dealer for your maintenance/warranty work.
No car is perfect, but you should get much better treatment from the dealer as a new car owner - they should bend over backwards to make you happy. Hammer the dealer - you'll probably get a dealer survey from PCNA at some point - keep a few notes of your issues.
Give'em hell! Its a Porsche not a Pontiac and you expect and deserve better treatment because of this.
G.
I belive you should let them know what is going on. What zone are you? I looked at your public profile but nothing is listed. I would like to see a "top sticky" thread where we can warn of bad service providers and also talk about the good.
It's always the best policy to lie....
Of course I'm kidding, you should definitely be honest in those surveys, otherwise what is the point of filling them out?
Tell the truth to both J.D. Power & on the survey(s) you will receive from Porsche about the purchase experience, especially re: the defects in the car.
Do NOT slam the car for the clear bra issue. That is completely out of Porsche's control and should be a reflection more on your dealer. Porsche doesn't make a clear bra, nor do they make anything by selling you one.
Update:
Took the car back to the dealer today and so far it seems they fixed everythng.
I'm starting to wonder if the first time I took my car there it was in the back of the line as they had everything except the clear mask fixed about 4 hours after I dropped it off.
I'd definitely go with the truth... it's the only way of keeping companies honest.
