Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I tried using the AC check mentioned above but it didn't work, is that only preface lifts?
Leading evidence: 'Check mentioned above' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check mentioned above' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

My car is running around the "0" with a max of about 95 so I'm happy I don't have to worry about global warming right now!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Mine usually sits pointing at the 0 in the 80 once fully warmed through.
If I do too much sitting in traffic or stop start driving round town then it can increase slowly to 90 or even slightly higher depending on the temperature outside.
About 90 deg (this corresponds to the needle pointing to the "0" in "80" on analogue display).
Bear in mind 80 deg is at "2 minutes to twelve" and the graduation after 80 deg, is 100 deg at "3 minutes past twelve" and 120 deg at "8 minutes past twelve"
Once fully warmed, it seems to generally fluctuate 88-92 (depending on air speed over rads and, of course, engine load)
But, say at least 1/2 hour into drive, it can be as low as 86 and as high as 101/102 if hot day in stop-start traffic after a spirited drive.
This is as shown on digital climate display.

Mine tends to be just to the left of the "0" in 80 in most motoring conditions.
Whilst stood in an endless queue on our way to The Yorkshire Big Breakfast at Malton (we must have moved about 1 mile in 80 minutes!) the needle went into the "0" in 80.
It was still a great 911uk.com day out though :thumb:
Gauge always sits just above the 80 marker once fully warmed on the targa.
Though I have a feeling the reading on the gauge is massaged so it does not show small differences only large ones - this appears how our Audis have worked for last 10years. Or perhaps they are just much better at keeping a fixed temp compared to my original Mk2 Escort Estate .
pretty much all petrol car engines are designed to operate at exactly 90 degs C - you will find this on nearly every petrol car, its the engines peak efficiency temperature.
The 3.4 seems to run hotter as there is only 1 coolant temp sensor and the 3.6 has 2 and takes the average of them. On the 3.4 needle tends to sit just to the left of the 0 and when in traffic moves to the middle of the 0. In really heavy traffic it can move to the right of the 0. On the climate control hack (only works on 3.4) left of 0 is about 90, middle is about 93 and right of 0 is about 98. Looking at other forums this seems about right.
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I just thought it weird that "normal" temp doesn't relate to any markings on the gauge.
