Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've just replaced all four tyres and this gave me a chance to look at alternatives, however I've stuck with the Bridgestone.

Major services are dearer, as to change plugs is a marathon (3.5 hours IIRC).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I replaced them with Pirelli and that solved the problem straight away.
The Turbo isn't hugely more expensive to run. Major services are dearer, as to change plugs is a marathon (3.5 hours IIRC). They eat rear tyres (or at least mine seems to) but I suppose that's not surprising. It uses a bit more oil than a standard 996, and unsurprisingly, more fuel (probably 4-5 mpg less). I believe clutches on manuals don't last as long. Find yourself a good indy, and the difference in servicing and maintenance costs will be far less than an OPC. As Nick says - depends on your useage and mileage.
Worth every single penny though.
I got 6000ish from them. Conti SC2s. Not sure exactly, as they were on the car when I bought it, and they had only recently been fitted. I used to get 12000 from the rears on my C2 (with both P-zero Rossos and Michelin PS).
Ah! contis.. :what:
On my previous 996TT I could only ever get 3K from the rears...
My other car got 12k from the rears.. I currently get 11k on the rears and 22 from the set of fronts..

Always hear good things about the michellins, I actually removed a good set from my 996TT as they were causing issues- actually creating tyre squeal on bends at 20/30mph :? Also under easy braking which was quite scary to say the least..!
I replaced them with Pirelli and that solved the problem straight away.
However I found the Pirelli to have more road noise and a pathetic rim protector (which I found out to my cost just the once
)
I'm currently on Bridgestone and I have to say I'm really pleased with the grip in the dry and wet, slightly more road noise than I remember the Pirelli having.
The quietest tyre was without a doubt the Conti- but again I have seen people say exactly the opposite.

I did consider going R888 and having some fun though
