I pull over, close the door again and the noise is gone so I wonder if your problem is a door adjustment.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

30 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Planet-9: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

This thread is to find out the relative incidence of problems experinced in our Caymans

POST 2Original post

How about NONE? That would be my useful addition if offered as a choice.

POST 4Original post

I had the trunk clunk (19's without PASM ) till I got PSS9's. The "other" items included a cosmetically defective airbag cover on the steering wheel and a bad/faded window trim piece.

POST 9Original post

None- except the inability of the coated door sill plastic to stand up to tennis shoes grazing it without permanent blemish.

POST 10Original post

Great idea for a poll. You should add a none option though. I also wish there was a way to indicate a mileage range, so we know of prevalence by mileage. My car's got 541 miles on it now, so not too surprisingly, the answer's "none" (knock on wood).

POST 11Original post

Well, 15K miles and.....none. Not a single thing. Not in summer, fall, or horrifying winter as a daily driver. Not a single, solitary problem. Keeps me looking smug, actually.

POST 12Original post

My black/black '07 CS has marks in the paint from the shipping tape. I'm no detailer but I know that this was not just leftover adhesive that could be removed with a little mineral spirits. I've had it back to the dealer twice and every time I get the car back it looks worse than it did when I droped it off. This last time it appears they polished the top and dragged a power cord or air hose across the rear bumper. So now I have tape marks and scratches!

POST 13Original post

So far at 24,000 miles; Power Steering line/seal failure (twice), Leaking engine cam cover (driver's side), Leaking driver's door inner pannel (carpet trim at bottom of door soaked after rain) and low tone horn failure.

POST 14Original post

I just edited the poll to add a NONE choice so those of you who voted by posting None can now go back and actually vote None!

POST 15Original post

Only one problem with my '06 with 16k kilometers on it. The passenger side window would not go back up automatically after closing the door.

POST 16Original post

Thanks Ken! I tried to edit the poll, but I couldn't. I guess either OP's don't have the authority or I just don't know enough yet.

POST 17Original post

8 months old 8,500 miles. Switch on air con unit died releasing all the gas. It came out in a cloud from under the bonnet and looked like an engine boiling up. Pretty weird sight considering where the engine is. All sorted by Porsche Assist though. A.

POST 18Original post

The Chrono of my Sports Chrono has never worked. Actually, it works, but the second hand is stuck. I am waiting until the first service to get it fixed

POST 19Original post

The sealings around the side windows does not seal completely, creating excessive wind noise at speed.

POST 20Original post

Ditto! i'm enjoying 37,550 miles of pure fun!!!!

POST 21Original post

I checked "Trunk Clunk" but I hardly pay any attention to it any more.

POST 22Original post

The A/C compressor seized up the first day and tossed the belt. The dealer replaced the compressor and belt with no problems since 8/06. I did get to drive an S for 4 days while waiting for the parts to arrive.

POST 23Original post

I checked "other." The only real problems I've had are the tire pressure monitor reads a bit high - so I'm a little overinflated to prevent warnings (Dealer says it's fine!), and the dor window film issue sometimes dicussed here.

POST 25Original post

Those that track their cars may have a problem with the power steering unless they get the underdrive pulley. At high rpms the power steering pump simply turns too fast, creating overpressure and leaks, which will also lead to failure of the ps pump. This happened to me and a number of others who track their cars.

POST 26Original post

Problems with your Cayamn Only a minor cosmetic annoyance, the foam/seal around the rear center break light has come loose and is kinda hanging there. If I was'nt so anal about the little details it wouldn't bother me. I'm having the oil changed in April and I'll have them look at the brake light. Nearest Porsche dealer is in Reno, Nevada 168 mile from me . Mark C. 2007 Cayman 2.7 Basalt Black/Black Tubi w/Speedart dual tips

POST 28Original post

Upon delivery I noticed my brake light seal was hanging loose and had it fixed the next time I was at the dealer. Service advisor said it was a common occurrence.

POST 29Original post

Every once in a while I have this problem when I don't fully shut the door. The door seems to be shut but there is wind noise. I pull over, close the door again and the noise is gone so I wonder if your problem is a door adjustment.

POST 30Original post

Last week my response would have been "no problems to report in 4700 miles, thank you." Unfortunately the radio (non Bose with CD changer) decided to go on vacation right after visiting the dealer for the one year oil change. I'm going to try the DIY fixes documented on this site (turn the radio on/off multiple times, swithch between the CDC and FM band multiple times, turn ignition on/off multiple times...) hoping that will rectify things...
