Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I challenged the brake fluid issue as it was them who changed the brake pads only 200 miles prior

Suggestion
If you are buying a car outside OPC and it hasn't warranty it's best to ask the seller if it can go through the check before buying.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If you would buy a 996 privately would it be a problem to get OPC warranty? It would need to pass the 111 point check and have full OPC service history I would assume. Any other requirements? How much is OPC warranty nowadays?
OPC warranty is becoming difficult.
Car need to be completely standard, down to the stereo, no aftermarket tracking systems etc. Anything that needs doing, must be done by an OPC.
You need to have owned the car for more than 3 months.
Cost £1350 pa which includes the check. Discount for a 2-year warranty.
If you are buying a car outside OPC and it hasn't warranty it's best to ask the seller if it can go through the check before buying. Walk away if they say no.
Just had mine done whilst still under warranty. Can be renewed within 30 days before the previous one expires.
Cost for one year was £1350 which includes the 111 check.
New rules introduced this year are;
1. You must be the registered keeper for a minimum of 90 days, unless you buy the car which is already under warranty (like I did).
2. The service history has to be OPC (official parts only), if not the car will require a major service before the 111 check.
3. The vehicle cannot be over 9 yrs old or over 125K miles.
4. The car cannot be modified in any way.
The term modified is a grey area. I take this as mechanical modifications or ICE mods. My C4s has a tracker fitted it also has a Nokia hands free kit installed, these items were not an issue when it came to renewing.

Very interesting and is certainly a grey area. Strictly speaking your handsfree kit or tracker WOULD prevent an OPC issuing a warranty. My Parrot BT handsfree kit prevented an warranty being issued.
If they don't see the BT kit (and they wouldn't spot the tracker), then they would have no reason to decline the warranty.
It's crazy really, because it's £1500 for pretty much doing nothing for these sort of items.
However, I do agree that modifications to exhaust, spoilers, brakes etc, would be an issue.
Grey indeed.
When we bought from our local OPC, The car was supplied with the OPC warranty. At the time, I asked about the car's existing Tracker and RAC Trackstar units.
The OPC line was that if the car subsequently developed a fault that could conceivably be connected to the fitment of non-OEM units, such as a Tracker or BlueTooth modification, then the likelihood is that the warranty claim would be declined.
They offered to remove both units, but I graciously declined :wack:
That was definitely the case under the old style warranty, but all local OPCs are being very strict on the new scheme.
I've tried Byfleet, Guildford, Reading, Chiswick and West Sussex....all have said the same thing.
I personally think having the tracker for a warranty is a bit too far, because Porsche didn't supply this and some
insurance
companies insist on having it fitted....and like I said, they wouldn't know it's there either.
It's only stuff that they can see!
