Hi there, I’ve just bought a 2009 Boxter S-A 987 2893cc. Typically, a couple of days of driving it, somehow there’s a crack/hole on the rear left hand light - no idea how that happened! I am trying to find a cheap replacement light on eBay or similar, but am confused as to if a Cayman spare light fitting will also fit the Boxter. Does anyone know? Help greatly appreciated

The 987.2 left tail light assembly (98763142504) fits both Boxster and Cayman. Left tail light In the meantime, get some red translucent film/tape from an auto parts store to cover that hole and keep moisture out.

oh dear - i'm left wondering how that happened... for the 987.2 only diff between cayman and boxster are the front daytime running lights. depending on the condition of your other light - you may want to consider getting a pair if one is already slightly faded. your options are: stock design 981 style design for 987.2 bumper

Thanks for the help! I really have no idea how it could have happened, maybe someone sat on it?? I was tempted to upgrade to LED lights...assume they’d fit just the same as a standard light. Especially makes sense if I replace the pair. Expensive mistake to make though if they don’t fjt!

It's already an LED unit. No replaceable bulbs. What eyeofthetiger was referring to was a Chinese aftermarket pair of taillights that are similar to the 981.

this might give you some ideas for alternatives. just be aware they won't be as bright as the original lights. Finally installed 981 styled lights for my 987.2!! Received my new 981 styled lights for my 987.2 Cayman S and got it installed right away! :banana: As the lights for the 987s are getting really old with the newer 981 and 718s, I decided to go for the plunge despite the hefty price tag and give mine a facelift.
