Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

The S muffler won't add any horsepower as it's a cosmetic change only to have two outlet pipes instead of one.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am wondering if a muffler from an S model will fit and or make any differance in performance thanks for the help. BUXSTER

POST 2Original post

OK folks. Please do not post in the FORUM NEWS section. That is only for admins and moderators. JT, how about locking that down so only admins and moderators can post there? I thought this had been done actually, but apparently it hasn't. Just start a new thread in the regular forums, but not in this area please!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry i wasn't sure how to post a new thread and it ended up in the news section didn't mean for it to end up there

POST 4Original post

An S muffler from 2000 to 2002 models will fit any 2000 to 2002 2.7 with no modifications. 1997 to 1999 2.5 models need an adaptor kit to fit the S muffler (the upper mounting blade changed in 2000). The adaptor kit is around $150. The 2003 and 2004 S mufflers won't fit earlier cars due to the rear bumper changes and larger pipes. The S muffler won't add any horsepower as it's a cosmetic change only to have two outlet pipes instead of one. The underlying muffler is exactly the same.

POST 5Original post

Brian is correct except that a 2003/4 muffler will also fit. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=989&st=0&#entry4301 Ian in the UK with a 2000 put on a rear bumper from a 2003. He like the way it looked so then he put on a 2003 muffler. The muffler came long after the bumper cover.
