So, Porsche used very thin compressed foam which over time deteriorates and comes out in small pieces...especially when you increase the air flow.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

does anyone have a fix for the foam coming out of the AC vents? I already had alot of foam, big and small. I assume that they are almost gone, the problem is that the AC is not that cold anymore, it rattles inside and I still have occational foam coming out anyone had fixed this?

POST 2Original post

I had the same issue for the foam including mixing cold and hot air. My car is under CPO warranty and exactly in these days the dealer is fixing the issue. They told me they have to replace the full AC system! Thanks god I do not have to pay any single penny for this. I hope it is the same for you!

POST 3Original post

sadly we dont have such insurance in my country. so i am looking for a DIY fix for this. or atleast and article how to access the AC system

POST 4Original post

most likely the foam comes from the baffle that directs or deflects air thru the A/C and heater systems. I find this very sad. I had a 1997 boxster with exactly the same problem. The baffle needs to be ultra light. So, Porsche used very thin compressed foam which over time deteriorates and comes out in small pieces...especially when you increase the air flow. The fix requires removing the dash or entering through the fan/heater housing under the bonnet. I expected Porsche to fix the problem long before now. I don't know if Pete's OLD articles are available, but this was covered.
