Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last year when my car was still under the Manufacturers extended warranty it had the front diff changed. Today during the MOT inspection, getting under the car it was seems that there is a small amount of oil leaking from the front diff. (Looking at the garage floor at home there is a 50p sized puddle of oil - and the under-tray of the car has more on it, blown backwards from when i drove it this morning. Now the car is not under warranty (and i know there is no comeback on warranty work done within the last 12 months). I need to take the car to a Independent Porsche specialist that I know (approx 50 miles). I can arrange for a family member to bring a trailer to put the car on (a long round trip but possible) however if i could tell how much oil was still in the diff and know that the car could be driven to the garage it would be a whole lot easier. Is there a way to check the oil level in the front Diff?

If you take off the undertray, you should see the filler plug on the back of the diff near the output shaft. The diff should be filled to the level plug.
