Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Keen to fit a double din this afternoon. Must I really wait until I can obtain the two keys to remove the radio!
Any shortcut is welcome. have tried a couple of jigsaw blades in the slots but no luck yet.
Yes, easy....
Pull firmly on the trim pieces either side ( the trim bits that have the oval shaped switches in like heated window etc)
Start at the bottom, they are stiff but do unclip eventually.
Once they are off you will see 4 x T20 (may be T15) Torx screws, remove them and the whole facia including the radio will pull out of the dash.
It is all kinda self explanitory from here on in.
:thumb:
Blades, knives etc will not do it, if you look at the removal keys you will see why when you see the keys, they have a hook affiar and a tapered slide.

Cheers guys, dash job was a doddle. Suits me to take it out as Ill be working on it to put in a double din. Looking like installation should be easy but wiring might be more difficult!
Ta all.
Trust me it is a VERY easy peasy lemon squeezy task!
Nothing to it and to be honest if Andy is installing a double din unit he would need to do it anyway.
Happily its the old 22 unit.
Just looking at the wiring Ive taken from the radio Im assuming Ill need an aerial adaptor jack as the existing one (I assume its the black cap thing) isnt compatible with the unit Im fitting. It also has a tv built in and while hardly a major essential some sort of double adaptor will be needed for that too.
So far as the other wiring is concerned the first existing fittings are a single 8 point harness. I assume this is for power and some basic functions.
The second unit (I assume for speakers etc) is comprised of three interlocking coloured blocks (blue green and yellow) with 7/5/5 pins. This isnt compatible with the new unit which has a double harness and also with a separate connection allowing individual speakers etc to be connected. Ideally Id like an adaptor for this second unit for the second harness port on the new unit. Does anyone know of such an adaptor?
All advice welcome. Cheers.
Ok, so its a CDR22 set up. The Blue, Green and Yellow is for CD multichanger and amplifier options.
Next question: Has your car got doors speakers & and an amp?
There is a speaker in each door. No idea about amps etc? Only had the car 6 days (turbo from a C2). Its fitted with a cd mulitchanger it would appear. Not worried if I dont retain the use of it.
Sorry, Im not very ICE literate
Sounds like you will have an amp. It is really important as the small wires off the Green, Blue & Yellow block go to the amp and then the thicker wires are from the amp.... NOT a simple hacking job but you can hack it.
