Lower control arms create a creak so I am reliably informed, and the whole suspension has been thoroughly checked over for all signs of wear.

If the indy couldn't find the rattle I would be looking at stripping the boot out, check all the pipes, and battery under the scuttle panel etc...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi again, The C2 went to the garage for some diagnostics.Top mount, anti-roll bar bushes and drop links all replaced. The rattle is a parallel problem ie dissipated between both wheels so not a failing in one side. My fab. indie located dry joints in the steering rack, which following appropriate lubrication improved the problem. But unfortunately it is not cured. Lower control arms create a creak so I am reliably informed, and the whole suspension has been thoroughly checked over for all signs of wear. Could it be Track rods? All feedback would be helpful before I start to replace heaps of castings and bushings etc. Thanks Martin :worship:

POST 2Original post

If the indy couldn't find the rattle I would be looking at stripping the boot out, check all the pipes, and battery under the scuttle panel etc... you may just find the 13mm spanner you lost a while ago!!!!

POST 3Original post

I'm surprised you've done all that and didn't check the lower control arm, it's the source of most creaks when they're knackered.

POST 4Original post

Hartech do replacement arms where the bushes have been swapped out. You order them, fit them and then send your knackered ones back to them. Chris Franklin (Center Gravity) can also replace just your bushes or fit the Hartech replacements. Depends where you are located.

POST 5Original post

Weak forked control arm joints ??? Also, as Lloyd said including spare wheel/tool kit.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will probably take a drive north to Hartech and get them to take a look. thanks Will report back Martin
