I had to do some adjustments when I first installed cause it was hard to get into 5th/Reverse, but after the adjustment it goes into all gears smoothly and with no problems, no notchiness at all.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I had this on a stock setup and noticed it most apparently when going into second gear and letting off the clutch. When the clutch grabs I can see/feel the shift knob move slightly. Over the weekend I installed Numeric SSK and Shift cables, and I thought that those would fix this issue as well. However, with the noisier Numeric hardware, I am still seeing these movements, but since the noise is amplified it also sounds like a clunk noise for each shift. I don't know what else I can adjust on the cables. I had to do some adjustments when I first installed cause it was hard to get into 5th/Reverse, but after the adjustment it goes into all gears smoothly and with no problems, no notchiness at all. Anyone got any ideas? Is this normal? I mean, the shift cables travel a long distance to the transmission, so I wouldn't be surprised. The only other thing I can think of is maybe movement due to older engine/transmission mounts? Anyone have any experience with this symptom?

POST 2Original post

Yes I would take a hard look at your motor and transmission mounts. More likely the motor mount; there;s just one and it will break down with age.
