Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Planning on replacing the oil cooler since it's the original and hope that's the culprit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Can anyone in the NYC metro area who may have this unfortunate experience be able to give me an idea as to what to expect cost wise to drop the engine & remove both heads (thinking of sending the heads to Len Hoffmann) and cost to re-assemble all.
Trying to decide if i should fix or sell the car as is. Also a reputable shop in the NYC metro area that can handle this?
Much appreciative of any advise.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread (It wont let me message you), but I am having oil in coolant, but it is a very small amount, like maybe a few ounces. Did yours have a lot when it was the oil cooler?
Thanks

Actually, a bit of each in the coolant and the oil. Thus far I have not done anything since I've only placed about 1,000 miles per year since when first noticed. Since changing the coolant and oil I've noticed less of an intermix. Planning on replacing the oil cooler since it's the original and hope that's the culprit.
FWIW if you ever need it, Len did my heads with his Stage II porting/polishing/full service/racing valve springs/brass freeze plugs w epoxy for around $3250 incl shipping from upstate NY and back. This was in fall of 2023?
