He used the same clutch that OPC use, but without the Porsche box.

Mike @ Sports&Classic replaced my turbo clutch at xmas - highly recommended - great service and a far more thorough job than the opc's would have done.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wondering from those who have put a new clutch into their turbos where and how they sourced the clutch and where they had it fitted. I intend to keep my car service history in the OPC network but don't see any point in paying through the nose for putting a new clutch in.
Ive had a quick look on the net (and will look further) and seem to be able to source a clutch at around £525 including VAT, See here:-

Is it likely to be cheaper to buy this and have it installed at a half decent indie? Or to get the whole parts and fitting as a package? What sort of labour time is involved?
Any thoughts and costings (and alternative sources of kit) gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
Recently had my clutch, rms and intermediate shaft seal replaced by Tony Wright of Wrightune near Reading for half the price of OPC. The clutch cost was only £562 for parts and labour plus VAT - couldn't fault him. He used the same clutch that OPC use, but without the Porsche box. Porsche don't make clutches, they buy in from Sachs. Not sure if Turbo is the same clutch, but your chosen Indy will know that.
Cheers

do the Sachs clutch kit, but it's pretty much the same price as Design911. Strange that the GT2 clutch is cheaper.....

there are 3 types you can fit
Std
Stage I
Stage II
The later two have higher clamping capabilities and are aimed at cars with 500bhp and above. If you think you may mod yours(easy to do) then maybe you should look at a stage I or stage II type clutch assembly.
The OEM/Std kit is fine and it can take bigger BHP's up to a point but it won't last much beyond 25k miles if the car is pumping out big BHP and torque numbers.

Tip - with the K24's(X50) fitted you can get a nice power increase just with a miltek, ECU remap and K&N on an X50 car.
