Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello Everyone, Im new to this forum and to the Porsche family In general. I recently purchased a new 2015 911 991 Carrera and looking to add racing exhaust system. Looking for aggressive sound and perhaps adding 40-50 more horse power. I hear the way to go is with the European exhaust systems but I'm not sure. Your help and advice will be sincerely appreciated Thank you all in advance!!

POST 2Original post

Fabspeed. They are a board sponsor and make great products. I have their exhaust and love it. Sent from my StarTrek communicator using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

If you have a base 991 3,4 carrera you are never gonna get 40-50hp unless you add a turbo or something. You are looking at 10, maybe 20hp with a FULL exhaust (header-back). And I'm european....and have Fabspeed to be installed on my car this weekend. They are "european quality" IMO.

POST 4Original post

Yes, as was previously stated, you will hardly gain anything with an exhaust. Possibly 10hp at the max in my opinion. Hell the factory Power Kit only gets you 50hp and that is different cams, heads, etc. Exhaust is a very difficult thing to decide on. I can only say to visit some forums and search for some exhaust threads and read peoples opinions/experiences and listen to some videos. I went through this same exact thing and decided on an FVD system. Good luck and keep us posted!

POST 5Original post

I'm down to either Tubi, Capristo, Kline or Remus, any feedback on any of these products will be greatly appreciated

POST 7Original post

I have Capristo headers and exhaust on my 987CS. The quality is excellent. I also appreciated the bi-modal system where you can tone it down when you want. Nice for cruising through the neighborhood or in town. This also has the benefit of no drone. One of the few systems that can make that claim. When the valves are open it is very loud. You can find sound clips in the Exhaust Shootout in the Articles section here, on YouTube and the Capristo website. Given the engine similarity I'd expect similar sound though have no idea how the packaging difference required from a 987 to a 991 would affect the sound. Install is a bit more complex. Somewhat like getting PSE installed after the fact. Pricing is similar too. I don't remember how much Capristo claims for a power increase on a 991. It's not going to be 40-50 HP. As a WAG it would be more in the ballpark of 20. At least it adds power to go with the sound. I don't know if any site sponsor handles Capristo anymore or not. Used to be a couple. For me the lack of drone, being able to reduce the volume to stock levels and the power increase was worth the extra cost and install hassle. YMMV.

Hello Greywolf, All of our products are made out of the finest T304L Stainless Steel, and are TIG welded and hand-polished to a mirror finish, all done here at our facility in Pennsylvania. Please be assured our quality is top notch, and I look forward to proving that to you. We are days away from releasing our Valved system for the 991, and are confident the results will exceed all expectations. Just our Sport Headers netted gains over stock of 23whp/22wtq. Combine this with a Valved Center Muffler Bypass and/or Maxflo/Supercup Side Mufflers and the result will be phenomenal sound and performance improvements with no risk of drone.

POST 9Original post

I sincerely appreciate all feedback received so far. I love having the valve option and It's really a close call between Capristo and Armytrix...any recommendations Capriston vs Armytrix? Thank you all very much!! Best, Tamer

POST 10Original post

I have been wrestling with the same decision - I like the PSE because it is a Porsche part and you get the button - but it isn't as loud as some of the other options and adds absolutely no power. I think the Armytrix sounds the best based on videos, but that might be based on the fact that they have the most videos...I wish there were more around here because hearing them in person is usually the best.
