Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I'm not ready to buy a 911, but... This one ticks all the right boxes except for exterior color. There is the whole naturally aspired engines going away and this one has some warranty left. Price seems attractive to me. The seller is fuzzy about paintwork. Said that there is paintwork but ignored my question about details (in any earlier version of the relisted item). Apart from that, what are your thoughts in case it turns out the paintwork is harmless? Porsche 911 Carrera 4 s C4S | eBay

POST 2Original post

What does It is not uncommon for an exotic car to have paint work mean? First it is not exotic, second nonsense. Its UNCOMMON.

POST 3Original post

Guy is clueless no doubt. It gets better because now he says "This car has some repainted body panels, but no damage to the frame. Obviously this is reflected in the price, i am being sincere and honest instead of the other sellers that make NO mention of their car(s) being or having paint work. " That is funny because this is the second relist of the same car and the first two auctions did not have this information (before he answered questions on it)

The best cars are always held by the worst sellers

W/o the suspicious paint work, looks like a nice example. POST 7Original post

Yeah. Somebody else paid all the $$$ for all the cool stuff I would want. But this is the third auction and the seller doesn't get any clearer. I also asked him/her whether the warranty is still in effect, no reply.

POST 8Original post

not sure i would buy a car off ebay. just me though...

POST 9Original post

If the seller doesn't know what panels were painted, how does he/she know the damage and repair was only cosmetic? Is repairing bent metal and repainting just cosmetic?

POST 10Original post

Brought both of mine through ebay. What's the problem.

POST 11Original post

I'm in the same position as you, dud. Not quite ready to buy a 991, but have the 991 C4S Cabriolet in mind as my next Porsche. It's a high-water mark for the 911. I'm holding out for a dark blue one. This white example is cosmetically a beautiful car - best wheels, some great options including manual transmission, adaptive sports seats, seat heating, etc. I wouldn't touch this particular car with a 60 foot pole though, due to the repainted body panels and the sketchy seller.
