Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Currently taking the seatbelts out but cannot work out how to disconnect the wiring to the bottom of the seatbelt. I have already removed the orange piece possibly in error.
Any tips. I dont want to rip it off and make it unusable.
Pip
Well dimwit worked it out in the end. You just require some shredded wheat and some balls about you. The orange tab comes out and then just pull on the remainder shown in the picture. The upper grey and green part come out leaving the green female part of the plug within the seatbelt mechanism.
Pip
I've seen your PM but going to answer here ..
Yes the orange tab pulls back to release the wiring plug as you have found out .. you will need to try and reattach the orange tab though .. it's the lock mechanism for the plug .
On some parts of the airbag system this type of locking tab also shorts out the wiring .. its a fail safe to let the alarm control unit know its unplugged ..
I'm unsure with this particular plug if it does that but if you can't refit the orange tab and try it without then if it has shorted you will get an airbag light on .
Thank you DeMort. If you want to exclude device this for track work do you know what size resistor you require. It is a shame there is not a switch on the dash to switch this and the passenger airbag off. To be honest I am very surprised there is not an on/off for the passenger airbag for forward facing baby seats - ???
Any idea for the resistance for this if I remove it - ?
Pip
A resistor would work but im afraid i don't know what size you would use ...
I'm sure someone here will know .
Personally i would still want a working airbag system even if only for track use .
To stop the passenger side airbag you fit a child seat deactivation kit .
FYI .. if the airbag light is on then there is a fault in the system ..
As such the airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident ..
Thats what ive been told previously but have not yet had the opportunity to crash a car with an airbag light on and prove it !!
Airbag light on is an MOT failure .
