Not sure about your budget, but I can highly recommend the Spyder valvetronic exhaust system.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all I am new to this forum and hope someone can help me!
I have a cracked exhaust muffler and am looking at changing it for something a bit more fruity sounding.
Is there any forum threads that any one knows of as I do not know how to search?
It is a weekend drive only so it can be a bit older than normal!!
Look forward for some advice.
Not sure about your budget, but I can highly recommend the Spyder valvetronic exhaust system. I bought my car with this already fitted and think it's brilliant. Sounds amazing but also gives the option to turn off when driving in resedential areas etc.

Hi Koo and welcome.
Another alternative often used on the forum here is the Top Gear. The company is owned by Alex, a member on here and I think he offers a 10% discount to fellow members. I have their full system on my car and it sounds fantastic as well as having saved a LOT of weight compared to the stock system.
Like Spyder they also do a valued system though I just went with the 'Simple" system since, like yours sounds, mine is just a weekend 'Toy" and not a daily.
The boxes are available valved, mild or sport sound. The sports are the loudest and what are fitted to mine (Albeit with manifolds and 200 cell cats as well)but even with just the sport boxes the noise was great and not boomy at cruising speeds. I'd would certainly recommend them so maybe take a look.

Also there is a guy on here called Rob who has a really interesting YouTube channel dedicated to our cars which you may want to take a look at. In particular this video about fitting his Top Gear boxes and cats to give you an idea.

But once again welcome! They are superb cars and you'll quickly see on this forum that they are kind of addictive to play with, tweet and modify!
Thank you guys I think I am going to buy a top gear valve muffler... I will probably also be looking at 200cell cats and would love a new manifold but I don't think I have a brave pill big enough to try taking it off my 20 year old 996...
Advice has been really helpful.

I recently updated my mufflers to the DesignTek sport ones and have been very happy. They are quiet enough in normal driving but great sound when you're pushing on. They were easy enough to fit and this is how they sound
