Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2007 Carrera S with stock drilled disks. My brakes are good ,my question is it possible to get my disks grinded because its squeaking or do i have to change everything completely?

POST 2Original post

Squeaking is very normal on performance brakes especially under light use conditions. Don't grind or replace anything because it may not solve the issue. Squeaking or squealing is caused by the brake pad vibrating, and so applying copper grease to the metal contact pints is an old method, but you can also buy brake squeal stop, which is a goo that sets into a a kind of rubbery finish and dampens any vibrations. Even better yet is to head out to your favourite road and give the brakes the work out they deserve. This will remove any deposits on the rotor (and less so pad) thus removing vibrations and the squealing. Normally stock pads are not a problem, but I would suggest you need to drive it a little harder probably Porsche do have available a quieter pad for certain models available on specific request, but they wear much quicker than stock. My Pagids are loud normally but after a track day or a hard drive they are quiet for quite a while afterwards.
