Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
The fact that they are bothering to retail it themselves leads me to think it's probably a nice car.
Leading evidence: 'nice car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'nice car' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's been for sale for absolutely AAAAAAAGGGGGEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!
Does it have a hidden story to tell?
Why so long4sale?
I don't know.
I can't see anything wrong with the car and it seems to be priced correctly.
It may be relevant that the only people likely to have viewed this car are people that are looking for a 996T and have seen it advertised.
The dealer selling it is only 8 miles from me and I have visited them. All the cars they advertise are in stock and viewable but you have to make an appointment as they are in a large converted barn, behind big gates and well away from the main road.
They don't have any passing trade.
I would say there's nothing wrong with it besides being £3/5k over priced. It all depends if the dealer is holding out for £40k. If so I'm not surprised it hasn't sold. I know the mileage is low but I wouldn't pay £40k. I would rather buy a newer model 911, yes it would have higher miles but to be honest it wouldn't be far off the same power with far better N/A sound.
You won't find many Manual Turbos with that mileage for less than £40k.
I'd rather buy a leggier 997 Turbo for the same money but it's a fact that many wouldn't.
They're very mileage and history dependant but Tips are starting to drop back under £40k, with most up for £40k-£50k. Equivalent manual cars will always fetch a bit more.
That's been in my eBay watch list for about a year!! It looks a good buy, I don't think I want a turbo but if I was swapping/upgrading it'd be to that, right colour and I believe non sunroof?!
£40k for a 40k mile 996 Turbo doesn't sound unrealistic to me.
I like the black dials too; most seem to have been spec'd with white which I'm personally not a big fan of....
MF.
It looks in fairly good nick I just think 996Ts have a very specific audience. I bought mine privately from a guy who had it for a fair few months I think and he had it on with an indy garage who couldn't seem to shift it despite very reasonable price and good service history good condition etc.
I think the pool of people who want a 996t and have 40k to spend might be even smaller right now at least.. Not an expert and the car may have some hidden secrets but that's my thinking.
Having just started ownership I think anyone who spends 30k on a mercedes a class or the like instead of one of these is crazy I think they'll be in demand for years to come!
It's a nice spec which personally I like but:
It's very early for a turbo. Could it be on a 'Y" plate? Doesn't matter to me but might to some.
It's not at a Porsche specialist (I assume taken in part ex?).
Non sports seats.
Do the headlamps look a bit hazy in the photos?
Are the calipers pink?
Swirl marks in the paint?
And recently serviced despite being for sale for a year?
Non of the above is meant to be criticism, and is purely personal speculation based on the advert alone - they are questions in my mind. Perhaps it's one of those cars that disappoints on close inspection? Or perhaps at £40k, despite the mileage, the first two or three points matter?
agree with above, it isn't the best spec. however it appears to be a tidy enough car.
i'm sure it will go to the right person, i remember seeing lots of 911's doing the rounds. One i went to see is still for sale a year later!
Absolutely ........ their normal stock is far more exotic.

It looks like it's the cheapest car of 70 odd they've got.
