Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I never had any bother with my refurbed set but my Indy has seen a few sets where owners have changed loads of suspension parts due to clunks and creaks and it has ended up being the centres of those wheels.

Suggestion

BBS recommend 16-18lb ft when torquing them up on reassembly but I'd just go 'tight" as those wheels, as gorgeous as they are, are a ***** for the bolts coming loose.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is the going rate for a decent set of 10's and 8's? Cheers

POST 2Original post

I sold a set off my GT3 in May for £850. They had a very recent refurb in the correct painted centers and diamond cut rims.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. Could I ask how much the refurb was?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, I have got myself a set of wheels. Refurbed a few years ago but still in good nick. But, some half wit has muddled them up when they have been put back together. I have an 8" face on a 10" inner and vice versa. What socket do I need to take them apart? Cheers

POST 5Original post

I think they are a spline, they can be quite tricky to undo. but they are one of the nicest wheels on a 996!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, they are splined. Good looking wheels. I'll see what google comes up with....

POST 7Original post

8mm multi spline bit is required. BBS recommend 16-18lb ft when torquing them up on reassembly but I'd just go 'tight" as those wheels, as gorgeous as they are, are a ***** for the bolts coming loose. I never had any bother with my refurbed set but my Indy has seen a few sets where owners have changed loads of suspension parts due to clunks and creaks and it has ended up being the centres of those wheels. So as I say go tight with loctite on the threads too. :thumb: A cheapy set like this should be fine - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230817998096

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers. I might even have one in my tool box somewhere. I'm on a mission now. Change the seats, new wheels and I'm going to try and do something about my quiet exhaust.

POST 9Original post

Good work! And nice priorities. Seats make a huge difference to the whole experience. :thumb:

POST 10Original post

i am just about to refurb set of those. i have silver 996 MY98 ive been told that factory finish was polished rims with painted silver middle piece . is it correct? or do i need to pain the whole thing? it was a bitch taking them apart BTW.
